Monsters University Merchandise Review + Sponsored Giveaway

Monsters University, the prequel to Monsters Inc. was a box office smash grossing over 600 million dollars worldwide! Kids fell in love all over again with Sulley, Mike, and the gang, so it’s no surprise that the Monsters University merchandise would be well sought after. We were lucky enough to get our hands on some of the Monsters U toy favorites: My Scare Pal Sulley, Toxic Race Playset, Sulley Monster Mask, and game Guess Who’s Behind the Door.

When the box arrived and the kids peeked inside, they were jumping for joy to see all of their new toys to play with. We started out slow with just the My Scare Pal and Sulley Mask for each child to enjoy. The boys love to dress up as superheroes on a daily basis, so it was fun to see them wearing the oversized Sulley Monster Mask with their little bodies. They like going around scaring everyone while wearing the mask.

The My Scare Pal Sulley is really adorable. It offers 3 interactive play modes. Just give him a quick shake to go between Tickle, Scare, and Sleep mode. You can also press the right, left, or both sides of his belly to create different sounds in each mode. In all, he offers 15+ unique phrases. My littlest cracks up constantly when interacting with Sulley. It’s so sweet to watch.

We took a staycation recently and chose to take the Who’s Behind the Door Monster’s University Edition game with us. Recommended for children age 6 and up, my 5-year-old had no issues catching onto the rules of the game. It’s actually similar to the Guess Who game that’s been around for many years. The premise of the game is to ask yes or no questions of your opponent until you can guess who their monster is. This game is a hit for the entire family. We play it several nights a week.

Surprisingly we’ve been so busy with back-to-back trips recently that we haven’t had a chance to play the Toxic Race Playset. However, it’s definitely on the agenda for our next family game night soon! Recommended for ages 3 and up, this is a great racing game both boys can enjoy, or there’s even the option to race solo. The game includes one Roll A Scare Sulley Monster, however, additional racers can be purchased.

I definitely recommend the My Scare Pal (offered in a variety of character options) for a younger child and the Who’s Behind the Door game for children over 5 years of age.
