I have been a long time fan of Philips AVENT, in particular their bottles. Both boys transitioned easily to Philips AVENT bottles, which made this mama very happy. So when my best friend recently had that baby boy she had dreamed of, and asked for advice on the best bottles to use, you can guess what I recommended for her.
About Philips AVENT Natural Bottles:
The nipple features and innovative petal design for natural latch on similar to breast, making it easy for baby to combine breast and bottle feeding. The Natural Bottles include a twin valve design that reduces colic and discomfort by venting air into the bottle and not baby’s tummy. It offers an ergonomic shape for maximum comfort, and is made of BPA free material.
She was happy to find a product that worked well for both baby and her family. While she chooses to breast feed most often, her lil guy has two eager sisters that want to help mommy feed baby. Having the Philips AVENT Natural Bottles on hand is also great for that daddy-baby bonding time, or when mom wants to slip out of the house for a night off from parenting duties.
Philips AVENT offers several options for their natural bottles, including the Essentials Set featured below. This makes a wonderful gift for any mommy to be, including two 9-ounce bottles, two 4-ounce bottles, two soothing pacifiers, one bottle brush, and one microwave sterilizer. The sterilizer also works well at sterilizing breast pumps. Find the natural bottles at Babies R Us, Target and Walmart stores, or online at philips.com and amazon.com.
In 2013, I was honored to be on a 7 mom panel for Philips AVENT where I provided my honest feedback on a pre-design model of the Penguin Sippy Cup (featured below). Philips took our feedback to heart and have finalized the design for their new cup! It’s exclusively sold at Walmart stores, and will roll out to other retailers in early 2015.
This adorable Philips Avent Penguin Sippy Cup features:
- Trainer handles with soft touch grips are seamlessly integrated into the cup’s unique penguin shape, helping toddlers hold the cup independently
- Angled silicone spout with built-in valve for 100% spill-free drinking (Mom confirmed!)
- Designed to help toddlers take their first sips while developing a natural drinking position
- Made from BPA-free materials and includes a protective hygiene cap to keep the cup and its contents clean.

I don’t have a favorite product. I haven’t used baby products for awhile. I looked at these yesterday at the store, since I’m in the market for new bottles. I was really excited to see your recommendation. When I used Avent bottles with my first, 8 years ago they leaked. I noticed the design has changed quite a bit since back then. Can you comment a little more on any experience with leaking or nipple collapse?
