Who doesn’t love a fun road trip? Especially when you’re cruising in style! Local blogger friends Kim from The Educators’ Spin On It and Penny from Penniless Teacher joined in the fun while we tested out the 2015 Kia Sedona SXL.

2015 Kia Sedona Features
The Kia Sedona SXL is a crossover vehicle that screams first class – from the luxurious Nappa leather seats to the cockpit-like dashboard and console. There’s literally tons of buttons to push and play with in the Sedona. One of the coolest features I came across while driving this Multi Purpose Vehicle (MVP) is the Surround View Monitor System which displays real-time camera images with a bird’s eye view. I was certain Kia was somehow beaming images down from space. LOL!
Another feature we found interesting was the extra window on the dashboard. That’s definitely something we hadn’t come across in a vehicle before. That’s what I like about Kia – they’re always looking for new ways to step up their game in the vehicle industry. Although small, these dashboard windows add even more ways to drive safely.
Tech Talk
Remember all those buttons I talked about earlier? The 2015 Kia Sedona is equipped with tons of technology like a Remote Keyless Entry System, Forward Collision Warning System, Blind-Spot Detection, Rear Cross-Traffic Alert, a slew of UVO eServices and a Smart Power Liftgate. Since we were doing a lot of highway traveling, we especially enjoyed the Advanced Smart Cruise Control which maintains a safe distance between our vehicle and the one ahead of us. This truly felt like our car was on auto-pilot! Another tech favorite was the multiple USB charger ports and power outlets. Let’s face it – social media and smartphones are not going anywhere so it’s convenient to charge our devices while on the go.
Additional Features
As I mentioned above, this award-winning vehicle includes second row lounge seating with adjustable armrests, winged headrests, and retractable footrests! Yes – your kids will LOVE this feature!
The mom in me loved the integrated 2nd and 3rd row Window Sunshades. The multiple cup holders and added storage throughout the Sedona were convenient for this 7 passenger MPV as well.
The available Slide-N-Stow Seating gives you ample space no matter the occasion. Additionally, the rear includes a removable flashlight and outlets that are helpful during emergency situations.
What’s a road trip without wind in your hair, right? The 2015 Kia Sedona SXL has dual powered sunroofs too!
Final Thoughts
This premium crossover vehicle is for anyone! It was a smooth drive on the highway and city roads. And as you can see it has loads of cool features. Safety is of course on my mind whenever I drive a vehicle, and the Sedona does not disappoint. It’s made with 55% high-strength steel and patented technology that provides outstanding durability. It was awarded the 2015 IIHS Top Safety Pick as well!
If you’re due for an upgrade in your vehicle status – I definitely recommend test driving the 2015 Kia Sedona! I have a feeling you’ll love it just as much. Stay up-to-date with all the latest Kia news by following them on Twitter and visiting their Facebook page.
*Update* I had another opportunity to ride in the Kia Sedona with blogger friends for a separate event and we rocked this totally cool video while doing it! Check it out below 🙂
A big thanks to Drive STI for providing this vehicle loan for review. All opinions are mine alone.

What a sharp looking car. I really like the lounge seating- your son must feel like a king! As an avid road tripper, I also like all of the storage space. One can never have too much storage.

The footrests would make my children so happy! Since they are still kind of little, they fall asleep in the car fairly often. It’d be great for them to be more comfortable on the road.

It’s absolutely a great feature for kids – they take lots of naps in the car. 🙂
