Plan an outdoor movie night this summer! It’s one of our favorite outdoor activities to do with friends and family. Last year we hosted a Zootopia outdoor movie party and Jungle Book party – both were a huge hit! With the release of the 75th anniversary edition of Disney’s Bambi, we thought it was the perfect opportunity to introduce the boys to the Disney classic while hosting a movie under the stars. BAMBI Party Ideas
For the tablescape, I used burlap as the table cover, and added a touch of fall leaves, this Bambi & Thumper garden statue and these adorable butterfly garden stakes. These were perfectly themed ideas for the outdoor setting and film.
For the food, I chose “woodland berries” like strawberries, blackberries and blueberries on a platter. I also served Thumper’s carrot sticks, and Bambi’s s’mores trail mix.
Here’s what you’ll need for Bambi’s s’mores trail mix:
2 cups vanilla chex cereal, 1 cup chocolate chips, 1 cup mini marshmallows, and 1 cup peanuts. Mix together in a medium bowl, then divide into smaller bowls for your guests.
Movie Under the Stars Setup
What you’ll need:
A quality portable projector, like this one is key. The P300 Pico mini projector is great! The set-up is very easy, especially with the USB Plug ‘n Play instant set up. We chose to connect the projector to our DVD player using a HDMI cable, but you can connect it to your laptop or phone as well.

The projector has a really clear picture, so you can use areas like the garage door, side of your home, or even a DIY white blanket screen for displaying the movie. Another option is purchasing an outdoor movie screen, like one of these.

Have your guests bring portable chairs, or a large blanket for your movie under the stars. If your party gets rained out, don’t worry! We used a white sheet against the inside of our garage door, and it worked perfectly.
