We recently visited SeaWorld’s all new water park, Aquatica. The day started out beautiful, but like many days in Florida rain came and went throughout our day, however we made the best of it. We were at a water park after all!
The park has several areas you can find seating at, and plenty of shade as well. Many of their lounge chairs offer umbrellas without an additional cost. You can purchase private cabanas as well. We chose a section near Walkabout Waters, which is for families with younger children.
The kids had a blast here! The section is really large and offers plenty of room for seating as well as playing. I also appreciate that Aquatica has free life vests for anyone, of any age.
The water park is very big, but conveniently displays maps throughout the park so you can find your way. We were a bit disappointed that the water park did not offer an All Day Dining pass like Sea World. However they do have an All Day Buffet at one restaurant where you can eat. The price is reasonable, but the selection is limited and is not changed up throughout the day. Banana Beach Cook-Out offers pizza, hot dogs, chicken legs, salad, fruit and one dessert. While we loved the food, it would be great for the buffet to change-up their menu throughout the day.
There are two wave pools at Aquatica. They offer a countdown clock so you know when to expect the next wave to pass through. This is also the only area that has a sandy beach. Kata’s Kookaburra Cove is another family hot spot offering a safe place for even the youngest family members. There are many other attractions at the park, all have a height requirement and our children were not quite ready for those rides yet. They sure did look fun though!
Our family did do a few laps through Roa’s Rapids. It kind of a lazy river, but not. These “rapids” move you quite fast and I suggest hanging on to your little ones and your bathing suit bottoms! I do appreciate that the park attractions have visible lifeguard stands so you know you’re in good hands.
Overall our family enjoyed the visit to Sea World’s Aquatica (rainy weather and all) and we look forward to returning. In my opinion the park is geared towards children aged 8 and above so we will most likely wait a few years, unless we get a babysitter for the day. Any takers? 🙂
Disclosure: All opinions are my own and may differ from yours. I received water park passes for the purpose of this review. No other compensation was received.

Hi Sylvia, we live in Florida. The post is for the Sea World Florida water park. I’m unsure if they have one in California, but they should! 🙂

Sounds like your family had an amazing time at the San Diego Water Park. This is actually the first I’ve heard that there was EVEN a water park in San Diego. Last time I was in SD, there was the zoo and Seaworld – now proof that I live a “closed” (view from my bedroom window) life! 🙁
Hope to venture out there sometime soon to get in on all the fun I’ve been missing!!
Thanks for sharing. 🙂
