As a born and raised east-coaster, I’ve never had the pleasure of visiting FatBurger until a few weeks ago. Their recently expanded Vegas location has a huge FatBurger Bar with jammin’ music and large flat screen tv’s that draw you in from the street. The original restaurant is still located just behind the bar if you so choose to sit indoors.

Here’s a few facts about FatBurger, created in 1952 by Lovie Yancey:
• Every burger is grilled when you order it.
• We use only 100% USDA lean beef. Fresh, never frozen.
• Our onion rings come from onions, not the freezer.
• Our shakes are made with real hand-scooped ice cream.
• Our fries and onion rings are cooked in 100% cholesterol-free oil.
• Our famous chili is made with a secret blend of herbs and spices.
• No generic burgers.
• No lame music.
Located just north of the MGM Grand Hotel, FatBurger offers a relaxing atmosphere where you can grab a delicious bite while people watching. The FatBar is perfect for stopping in for a quick drink as well. The weather couldn’t have been better for us during our November trip with 70’s and sunshine. We of course chose to sit outside for our visit.
I ordered a specialty drink created and named after one of the managers of the Las Vegas location. The Kush included Vanilla Vodka, Amaretto, Midori, a splash of pineapple juice, and a few other things, but you’ll have to visit FatBurger to find out! 🙂 This drink was goooood!
The food was savory. I of course had to try their famous burger, which comes in multiple sizes including XXXL! I went with a Large and side of fries.
The burger was juicy, fresh, and the fries were great too! My husband ordered wings and homemade onion rings with a Margarita to drink. He couldn’t get enough of those wings and they were gone fairly quickly.
The staff was cool and easy-going. The atmosphere was laid back and fun. The food was delicious. You couldn’t ask for anything better. Before continuing our walk down the strip I ordered a chocolate shake made with real hand-scooped ice cream to go. It just sounded to good to pass up.
This one was of our favorites on the strip. It’s a must! The location is killer too. FatBurger has locations in California, Colorado, and Arizona so be sure to look them up for one near you.

We went to a FatBurger in SanDiego (int he days when I ate meat) and were very impressed. The owner was so proud of his food it was contagious!

we have Fatburger here in Colorado so I probably wouldn’t stop in the one in Vegas since it’s something we can get at home – but it looks like they’ve made the location have its own Vegas touches which is pretty cool!!

Hubby remembers walking by Fat Burger when we were in Vegas years back. Now, if we ever go again we will have to eat there for sure!
