Wondering when is the best time of year to visit Walt Disney World theme parks in Orlando, Florida? I came across this helpful calendar of the Best Times to Visit Walt Disney World in 2015 and wanted to share it with all of you.
If you want to avoid hurricane season here in Florida, I recommend planning your visit to Walt Disney World between April 13th and May 22nd. The crowds are the lightest during that time of year and more enjoyable for you and your family. Summertime is always the heaviest travel season, especially for Disney! If you want to spend the holidays at Disney, plan a visit during mid November or early December.
Another bonus is Disney’s app, My Disney Experience – Walt Disney World. You can now pre-book THREE FastPasses for your visit to any of Disney’s theme parks with FastPass+. Book attractions and entertainment in advance! We booked shows like Beauty and the Beast Live at Hollywood Studios, which I highly recommend seeing, and attractions like Toy Story. The app allows you to see how long the waits are for each attraction when at the parks, and find the closest restaurant in your vicinity. It’s a free app and something I recommend for anyone traveling to the Disney theme parks.
Now that you know the best times of year to visit Walt Disney World – let’s talk about the best places to stay! Embassy Suites is an all suite hotel with 2 locations just minutes from Disney property. We had the opportunity to stay at their Lake Buena Vista South location just a few weeks ago.
Embassy Suites LBV South is located on 535 (the main I-4 exit to all things Disney). Each suite features a private bedroom, separate living area with a sofa bed, microwave, refrigerator, two flat-screen televisions and in-room safe.
The ambiance of the room reminds me of Florida from the beautiful paintings on the wall to the color choices of the furniture. The lighting and decor of the room is very inviting too. What’s great about Embassy Suites is their consistency throughout their properties. Whether you are staying in Florida, California, or anywhere in between the suites are similar in layout and amenities.
Speaking of amenities, your stay at Embassy Suites LBV South includes the following:
- Complimentary cooked to order breakfast every day.
- Nightly Manager’s Reception with light snacks and a variety of cold beverages, including alcohol.
- Business Center open 24/7.
- Fitness Center featuring cardio and balance equipment, also open 24/7.
- Kyngs Grille, open for lunch and dinner in the center of the main floor. This beautiful dining space offers classic American favorites.
- Oasis Lounge, open nightly at 5pm.
- Room Service, Coin Laundry, Game Room, Car Rental on-site, and much more!
I appreciated the convenience of having a wet bar with mini fridge and microwave in the room. We were able to keep cold beverages on hand, like juices for the boys and bottled water to store in our bag for the theme parks. And when we had leftovers from dinner, those could be easily reheated with the microwave.
The king suite included a separate vanity in the bedroom. With a family of four, I found this space convenient for putting on makeup, away from the shower. There are also 2 closets for storing clothing and luggage for your convenience. One is located in the living space, and the other is in the bedroom. The oversized desk with wi-fi was a great space for me to blog and tweet away, while the two televisions in the suite allowed the boys and hubby to watch separate television shows.
Embassy Suites LBV South offers a large Marketplace where you can purchase on-the go snacks, drinks, toiletries and much more.
We spent most of our time out and about around Disney area so we did not get to enjoy the beautiful pool on site. The private space is very nice for families visiting the resort who want to take a dip in the pool, or warm up by the cozy fireplace.
This well-kept resort is beautiful inside and out. The large breakfast area includes hot items like french toast, bacon and sausage or cooked to order omelettes, fresh fruit, cereals, yogurt, danishes, and beverages.
Embassy Suites LBV South is conveniently located just over 3 miles away from Disney parks and Downtown Disney. For a fee of $8 per person, the hotel shuttle will drop you off and pick you up at the Epcot bus transfer station for your convenience. Self parking at this resort is complimentary, unlike many of the Disney hotels in the area, so that is a nice bonus! The value of the rooms and amenities at this property make this hotel a stand-out favorite in our book!
Embassy Suites Orlando LBV South is located at: 4955 Kyngs Heath Rd Kissimmee, Fl 34746For hotel booking and information, visit their website or by phone at 407.597.4000.

This is definitely a great chart! Another great time to visit is in September, right after schools get back in. I actually have a trip booked for Labor Day Weekend and the rates for Disney resorts were PHENOMENAL. And I totally agree, Disney during the winter holiday is just pure magic.
I love Disney World! I’m a passholder and live 3.5 hours (via car) away. I don’t need much of an excuse to make the drive over there. 🙂

Great post, I need to check out Disney when the crowds are light because it’s just to much when all of those people are there.
Kecia says
I was hoping to go to Disney before our oldest started school. That way we could go during the best times on your chart without him missing school. Hopefully we can do it when there are just moderate crowds. We’ve been twice when I was younger, and both visits were doing heavy crowds!
Chelle @ Oh Just Stop Already says
I love Embassy Suites! They’ve never disappointed in when we’ve stayed at them. And completely agree that the best time to go is in the first couple of weeks of December. That’s when my family and I used to go as a kid to visit Disneyland.

We are generally a Disneyland family, but in a couple years we want to head to the World. The chart is super helpful, especially since my daughter’s school is switching to year-round the year after next.

That is great info and several of my kids birthdays fall in the best time to go, good to know. Embassy Suites is one of the few hotels that works well for my big family I am glad there is one so close!
Heather @OurKidsMom says
We would love to visit but I never know peek vs non-peek and to stay on site or not. The Embassy looks comfortable and the shuttle fee is reasonable! Thanks for the info!

You are welcome Heather! 🙂

I’m glad to hear you found the calendar helpful. Yes, Embassy is less expensive and just 3.5 miles away from Disney property!

Yep, Sept is a great month here!

That chart is so very helpful. We’ve never been but would like to go during the fall which looks like it’s less crowded. The Embassy Suites looks amazing!

It’s amazing how big of a fluctuation there is in park attendance throughout the year. It’s good you’re doing your research…and even better you’re sharing it with us!
