My dad and his wife are always helping us out with the boys, so we wanted to let them know how much they are appreciated. They were our guests of honor for our first backyard cookout in our new home. Hubby cooked up some delicious steak and pepper kabobs. We also had a summer classic: corn on the cob, cooked on the grill of course, and other yummy favorites.
I was really excited with the decor I picked out – it turned out perfect! By the way, I spotted those adorable milk glass containers and holder at Sams Club for under $20. I just love them! Now onto that Easy Summer Punch Recipe I promised. 🙂
Easy Summer Punch
Ingredients
- 2 cups canned pineapple juice
- 2-3 6.75oz bottles of SunnyD
- 1 2-liter of lemon-lime soda
- A handful of sliced strawberries
- 1 medium-sized orange, sliced
- Ice
Directions
Add the two juices to a pitcher, then mix in the lemon-lime soda. Next, place the sliced fruit around the outer edge of the pitcher, then add ice. Add a few extra pieces of fruit to the top of the punch and refrigerate until ready. So the ice doesn’t water down the punch, I would make this shortly before serving.
Speaking of Sams Club, I found the 24 pack of SunnyD on rollback for just $5.38 (good through the first week of August). I noticed the pallet next to the breads and bakery, however it can be found in the refrigerated section as well. Oh, and it includes 40% less sugar than soda plus 100% Vitamin C. That’s always great for moms to hear.
Our backyard BBQ was a success and loads of fun. Everyone loved the punch too! So what are you waiting for? Head outdoors with the family, and don’t forget the SunnyD – it’s where fun begins!

That looks so pretty with the fresh fruit slices! Even though it’s certainly not summer weather here, I think this might be a nice way to brighten up a very dreary day today!

You could make some ice cubes out of some of the sunny d in stead of using regular ice cubes. Anyway I think I would.
