As children grow parents exchange baby items, like cribs and toys, for toddler versions and so on. Recently, I looked at the boy’s overfilled playroom and decided it was time to purge. There was just too much stuff!
If you feel that way about any room in your house, I encourage you to take the time to purge. You’ll feel so accomplished afterwards! I know I did.
I began seeking out shelf storage for our made-over space and found Way Basics. This company is pretty awesome! It uses recyclable materials to make functional furniture that requires zero tools! That’s any women’s dream, right? Well many anyways. 🙂

An Easy and Affordable Way to Organize Your Home
I decided on Way Basics Malibu Shelf in Espresso. It’s also available in white and black. The box arrives flat and takes just minutes to assemble using 3M industrial-strength heavy-duty adhesive tape and dowels. I like that the included paperwork offered several ways to put the shelving together. There were many examples to choose from and I decided on the design below. And best of all – the product is green, toxin-free, and really easy to put together. I added a few canvas storage cubes for a pop of color and extra storage too!
For the other side of the kid’s desk space I added 3 extra large Storage Cubes in blue. There are a ton of color choices available for this modular storage box including pink, natural colors and green. Again it was super simple to put together and arrange in any configuration of my choosing. This cubby storage easily stores our larger items like puzzles, media items and much more. You can even mix and match colors and create a fun wall piece for your teens room. There’s endless possibilities with Way Basics!
Affordability:
Way Basics Storage Cube Plus are only $22.50 each and the Malibu Shelf is less than $100! Both of these items are such a great deal when compared to other furniture pieces. You can find many other stackable storage pieces in the $20 price range too.
The kids absolutely love their new space and I love how clean and organized it looks. I couldn’t be happier with my choice of using Way Basics for our organizational needs.
Do you need to add organization to a space in your home?

I bought a shelving unit that was z-board. I didn’t know what z-board was and I was really kind of disappointed when it arrive because it was cardboard.
However, after assembling it and using it for I was quite satisfied. It was very inexpensive and surprising durable.
I’am sure it has it limitations but if you are looking for something cost effective and functional z-board is a great option.
Thanks for all your great posts.

I’ve been struggling with organization for a while now. We have an older home that lacks storage unless I use the garage like my mother insists, but not everything you want to put out there. I love how affordable these are. Definitely looking into them.

I love these! The shelves I have now aren’t strong like these, and they dip in the middle. You can do so much with these, too!

We have cube storage all over our house! We need to add more actually. We love how easy it is to make everything neat & organized, even if you just toss it into the cubes, as my boys often do.

I try to organize and purge, but it seems like I never get anywhere. I do need some storage cubbies like that, though.

I have been wanting to do this or something similar for quite some time now. Our kids toyroom is a total disaster with an overwhelming amount of toys that are just ALL over the floor, or in toyboxes / boxes. I would need a good 12 of these or more to do it with all of their toys.
I will show this to my husband, as he builds shelves. Thanks!

I should get some of those for our playroom. It’s messy in there and I always hate the way it looks when I walk in. It definitely needs to be organized.
