Do you struggle with balancing life? I certainly do. Although I am in charge of my own schedule, I often find myself juggling quite a bit. First and foremost I’m a mom, so the kids come first – including their school and extracurricular activities. I also run a full-time home business (the blog), and need to make time for my husband and friends too. Although there’s always a lot going on, I love my life, but am I really joyful? I was struggling with that answer, so I decided to speak with a life coach.
What’s a Life Coach?
Before we get into that coaching session with Life Reimagined®, let’s first discuss what a life coach does. The goal of a life coach is not to help you sort through the past like a counselor would. The purpose of a life coach is to guide you through life now and provides you with key steps to move forward and complete your goals. They ask inquisitive questions that simply guide you through finding the inspiration within.
After signing up with Life Reimagined I spent a few minutes completing my Life Map. This was really fun! I love completing quizzes that share insight into my inner self.
Who am I? That’s a loaded question people are always driven to finding the answer to. The Life Map does just that. It consists of 5 areas: Gifts, Passions, Impact, Value and Purpose. There were a ton of options to choose from within each of the Life Map areas. I felt like I resonated with many, but ultimately I had to select the top 3 for each category. Once completed my Life Map popped up.
Booking my online session with a Life Coach was a breeze. Paulette Fried’s profile was so detailed that it made sense for me to connect with her. I had a few days to prep for the appointment, so I followed Life Reimagined’s recommendation of doing a test call with their online program. Within my profile I was able to send a note to Paulette prior to the appointment sharing what I hoped to cover during our 1 hour time.
My Session
The big day was here! I was in a quite space, logged on to my computer and ready to chat. Paulette came on the screen and introduced herself, then took a few minutes going over the process. Next, it was time to delve into my Purpose Statement. We went over each section in detail and when questions arose Paulette guided me through my inner discovery. Our main focus was spent on the professional side of my life – gaining confidence. I struggle with social anxiety. Most people who know me would say I’m outgoing, talkative, bubbly, but if I’m in a room with total strangers – I am the complete opposite. I clam up. I sweat. My stomach churns. Yes – really!
We spent time working through my anxious feelings and came out the other side with an action plan! By the end of this weekend I would come up with 5 ice breaker questions and role play those with family. This would help me overcome my nervousness when approaching others and meeting new people.
Regarding finding personal joy in my busy life. Paulette didn’t leave me hanging. We spent time discussing some ideas that made sense for me, starting with a daily gratitude journal. This would be something I did every morning – before ever getting out of bed. It would be “me time.”
I felt on top of the world! Paulette rocks you guys! She helped me recognize my own potential and helped me create a plan moving forward. By the end I felt like she was a friend I’d known for years.
If you’re looking for purpose or need help finding the inspiration within – I highly recommend booking a Life Coach session at Life Reimagined. The website is filled with helpful information to help you be the best YOU.
