The Top 6 Disney Character Meals at Disney World Theme Parks

Meeting Disney characters is the highlight of any child’s theme park experience. Disney World offers an abundance of character meet and greets, but sometimes those lines can get pretty lengthy.  So why not make it a magical breakfast, lunch or dinner with some of the coolest characters around!

Disney Character Meals

These popular dining experiences allow families to enjoy unforgettable moments with their favorite Disney pals. You’ll most certainly need to make advance reservations either online via your Disney account or by calling 407-WDW-DINE (407-939-3463). All Disney character meals provide tableside visits from the characters. There’s no need to wait in line – they come to you! During your (roughly) 1 hour meal each character will visit you and your family more than once. This gives you plenty of time to snap a quality picture of your kids with their favorite Disney characters.

The character meals are served in one of three options: Traditional buffet-style, Family style, or Pre-plated. Each location offers an adult and child price for the special dining experience. Below I’ve created the top 6 Disney Character Meals within Disney World theme parks. There are several other character dining locations, including at Walt Disney resorts nearby.

Hollywood & Vine at Disney World’s Hollywood Studios

If you’re dining at Hollywood Studios, Hollywood & Vine is the place to go! During our visit last spring, the restaurant had a special Star Wars themed dinner experience. We saw Mickey, Minnie, Goofy and Donald donning Star Wars attire. The restaurant is loud, but we had the best experience!

If you’re booking a breakfast reservation at Hollywood & Vine expect to see your child’s favorite Disney Jr pals, including Doc McStuffins, Sofia the First, Jake and the Never Land Pirates and Handy Manny. Lunch and dinner will be themed Minnie’s Seasonal Dining event and offer a variety of experiences like Minnie’s Springtime or Summer Dine and Minnie’s Holiday Dine. Minnie, Mickey, Donald, Daisy and Goofy are your hosts for those events.

Cinderella’s Royal Table at Disney World’s Magic Kingdom

Experience a one-of-a-kind fairytale meal at Cinderella’s Castle! This may be one of the toughest locations to book a dining reservation at, so it’s highly encouraged to book as far in advance as possible. Dine in a storybook setting surrounded by soaring stone archways, majestic medieval flags and spectacular stained-glass windows overlooking Fantasyland. You’ll visit with classic Disney princesses like Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, Jasmine, Snow White and Ariel. Choose from breakfast, lunch or dinner options.

The Crystal Palace at Disney World’s Magic Kingdom

Also located in the Magic Kingdom park, The Crystal Palace offers a different character meal option….feasting with friends from Hundred-Acre Wood. This buffet-style meal is available for breakfast, lunch and dinner with characters like Winnie the Pooh, Tigger, Eeyore and Piglet! This is also one of the least expensive character dining options.

The Garden Grill at Disney World’s Epcot

Just last month we visited the Disney World parks and booked a reservation at Epcot’s Garden Grill. Located next to the Living Land, this rotating restaurant offers sneak peeks of the ride, while indulging on a family style meal. Meet Chip ‘n Dale, Mickey and Pluto during your dining experience for breakfast, lunch or dinner. We visited during lunch and enjoyed an amazing meal including turkey and gravy, sausage, buttermilk mashed potatoes, fresh veggies from the Living Land greenhouses, and more! You can fill up on as much as you’d like and even ask for seconds. We saw each character at least two times during our meal. The kids thoroughly enjoyed the meal and experience.

Akershus Royal Banquet Hall at Disney World’s Epcot

Here’s another opportunity to see your favorite Disney princesses! Akershus Royal Banquet Hall is located in Epcot’s Norway pavilion and offers breakfast, lunch and dinner dining. All who attend the royal banquet can expect to meet Snow White, Cinderella, Belle, Princess Aurora, Ariel and Mary Poppins!

Tusker House Restaurant at Disney World’s Animal Kingdom

Tusker House is located at Animal Kingdom’s Harambe Marketplace and offers Disney character dining for breakfast and lunch only. Join Safari Donald Duck, Daisy, Goofy and Mickey at this all-you-can-eat buffet with African flavor! This is also one of the less expensive character dining options, and sometimes has same day reservations available.

All six of these Walt Disney World character meals are located within the parks and require valid park admission. Character appearances are subject to change.

We have been lucky enough to experience two character meals at Walt Disney World, and one at Disneyland Resort. I highly recommend booking reservations as far in advance as possible to secure one of these magical events. Yes that means book 6 months in advance if you can! Reservations are reserved by credit card, but not charged and you will receive a confirmation email with details should you need to cancel.

We’re hoping to visit all 6 on our list before the boys outgrow their love for visiting with characters. However, if you’re planning a theme park visit and kid-free, these experiences are definitely for you too! Some character dining restaurants also accept Disney Dining Plans, so be sure to lookout for that as well.
