I was invited to the #ZootopiaEvent for media coverage. All opinions are my own.
All week long I’ve shared coverage of Disney’s latest movie: Zootopia! It officially opens in theaters today, which means I can finally share my thoughts on the film. 🙂 In case you missed any of this weeks’ coverage, head here for insider info from the directors and writers, and check out my exclusive interview with Jason Bateman too.
About Zootopia
Zootopia poses the idea: what if animals had their own metropolis city? One where they rode subways, worked in high-rise buildings, and fought crime too. Judy Hopps lives in the country with her bazillion bunny family members where they harvest crops, but when she tells her parents she has other ideas for her future – they are worried for her. Her optimistic attitude has led her to the big city of Zootopia, where everyone can be anything, and she’s determined to be the first bunny police officer. The rest of the force isn’t drinking from Judy’s kool-aid, but she perseveres anyway!
Along the way she meets a no-good scoundrel, Nick Wilde, voiced by Jason Bateman. Judy is so determined to prove her worth at the force that she partners with the fox to crack a cold case of missing animals. The two take us on a wild adventure throughout the city with many twists and turns. While the film is animated and geared towards children, there’s plenty of hidden messages and jokes to keep the adults intrigued too. Because of a few scenes that are more mature and deal with sensitive issues, I recommend the film to families with children 8 and up. Both of our boys fell in love with the characters in Zootopia – and couldn’t wait to have their very own carrot recorder pen!
The beautifully detailed film with amazing artistry is paired with a great storyline. You won’t want to miss this latest Disney movie! Go see it in theaters, beginning today March 4th, 2016.
