Whether you’re looking for a way to entertain the kids on a hot summer afternoon, or searching for educational crafts during the school year, these handprint animal crafts are a lot of fun! Anytime I mention the word “paint” the boys get stars in their eyes. They love messy crafts! Thankfully I have a great tip to keep their messes to a minimum. 😉 Read on to hear more.
Handprint Animal Crafts
I asked the boys what animals they would like to make and they chose a zebra and a peacock. It’s funny because in our area we see a lot of peacocks roaming around. Kind of strange, right? They just keep populating, and boy are they noisy!
What you’ll need:
Construction paper
Finger paint or paint sticks
Markers
Wet Ones® Hand Wipes
Once the kids pick out their paper and paint colors they can get crafting. I love how easy this handprint animal craft is—and the clean up is minimal.
Here are a few additional handprint animal ideas:
- Bird
- Crab
- Fish
- Giraffe
- Lion
- Monkey
- Octopus
- Rooster
- Turkey
Your kids will be amazed to see their handprint turn into an animal. Just look at that smile on my little one! If you homeschool (like we do) you can incorporate a different animal for each letter sound of the week.
When it’s time to clean up, consider Wet Ones® Antibacterial Hand Wipes, which kill 99.99% of germs. These hypoallergenic wipes include moisturizing aloe, making them easy on skin for even the littlest of hands. Wet Ones® are ideal for quick cleanups after contact with germs, sticky foods, greasy dirt and everyday messes, like crafts.

Super cute ideas! Wet Ones are the best I always have them in my baby bag, purse, car and a few through out the house. I tend to run out of crafting ideas and these are all perfect for my little guy!

Those are the cutest crafts that my grandsons would love to make, too! Honestly, we don’t go anywhere without WetWipes. I have a canister in the car and we keep a package in the diaper bag.

That’s awesome Janet!

Those paint sticks look very encouraging for what would be a super messy craft! I honestly had no idea they even existed in that form, but it’s something I’m DEFINITELY keeping in mind as my son grows. They really look like they enjoyed the activity for sure <3 Thanks for sharing!

I love this post so much! I fully admit that I cringe when I see handprint crafts because all I can think about is the mess. But if you prep just a little bit and have the right supplies on hand, clean up can be easy. I’m feeling inspired, now. 🙂
