Music is inspirational, especially for young kids. With a developing love for music, dancing, and singing, we recently introduced the boys to a Casio portable keyboard.
At an early age, both boys attended music classes that introduced them to instruments, songs, and musical notes. I remember J, who’s now 9, stomping around the house in his diaper, while holding his favorite mini radio and singing to the beat. It’s one of my favorite memories, and we still can’t get rid of that mini radio today! This has only sparked more imagination and interest in music for our young boys!

The benefits of music
Research has shown that listening to music improves our mental well-being. It can give you an emotional boost that makes you feel happier! It can also lower stress, help you sleep more soundly, and even reduce depression. It’s also proven to raise IQ and academic performance, which I have to say rings very true in our household. Both boys have advanced right out of Kindergarten, and both have sustained straight A’s moving into 2nd and 5th grade at ages 6 and 9, respectively.
Introducing the boys to a Casio Portable Keyboard
L recently asked for an instrument to play, and we were very happy to connect with Casio for their LK-265 portable keyboard.
Some of the benefits include:
Sound
With 400 high-quality Tones and 150 fun Rhythms, the LK-265 delivers a huge variety of musical exploration. You can listen via the built-in speakers, or connect headphones for quiet playing.
Keys to Success
The LK-265 has 61 full-size, touch-sensitive keys that respond naturally to your playing dynamics. The LK-265 also feature Casio’s Key Lighting System, which illuminates keys to indicate which notes to play. Combined with its intuitive Step-Up Lessons, the LK-265 makes it easy to learn the 60 built-in songs.
Dance
The LK-265’s all-new Dance Music Mode lets you create and remix electronic dance music quickly and easily. Select from 50 styles of EDM, and use the lower keys to choose different variations of drum beats, bass lines, and synth parts. You can even add filter, flanger, gate, roll, low-fi, and other effects to polish your tracks.
Chordana Play app
This free app allows the Casio portable keyboard to connect via a iOS or Android device and uses the LK-265’s lighted keys to show you how to play your favorite songs. Chordana Play provides 50 additional songs to learn, like “House of the Rising Sun,” “The Muffin Man,” and “Home on the Range.” When you purchase the keyboard it includes instructions on downloading the free app and how to connect it to your device for playing. You will need to purchase a Stereo mini jack which is sold separately.
Our Thoughts
Both boys are in the beginner stages of learning how to play on the Casio portable keyboard. They spend hours learning different songs and dancing to the beats. They are definitely enjoying this new musical instrument! I think it’s a perfect piano keyboard for children learning to play without being to costly. Right now Amazon has it on sale for only $149.99 which is an outstanding price for what this keyboard includes. The sound is great, the lighted keys are just what a beginner needs, and the large database of programmed songs makes this Casio portable keyboard enjoyable for years to come.

Do your children have a love for music? I highly recommend checking out LK-265 keyboard by Casio.

Music is so important for children and the younger they are exposed to it the easier it is for them. We have one at our home and my child loves it! I love the portability and that it doesn’t take up as much room as a piano.

My keyboard is 20 years old. I want a new one like this.

I still enjoy using a portable keyboard. I don’t have space for a full sized piano and this is a great option.

As a kid I hated to practice piano or clarinet and ended up quitting pretty quick, now as an adult I wish I had spent more time with the piano. I would love It if my kids loved musi.
