I’m excited for another year at the movies! Here’s a line-up of 2022 Disney films releasing this year including Walt Disney Studios productions, Pixar, Marvel Studios, and 20th Century Fox which Disney purchased in 2019.
2022 Disney Films
Death on the Nile – February 11, 2022 (20th Century Studios) #DeathOnTheNile
In director Kenneth Branagh’s mystery-thriller “Death on the Nile” based on the 1937 novel by Agatha Christie, Simon Doyle (Armie Hammer) and Linnet Ridgeway (Gal Gadot) are a picture-perfect couple on a honeymoon voyage down the Nile River which is tragically cut short.
Belgian sleuth Hercule Poirot’s Egyptian vacation aboard a glamorous river steamer turns into a terrifying search for a murderer. Set against an epic landscape of sweeping desert vistas and the majestic Giza pyramids, this tale of unbridled passion and incapacitating jealousy features a cosmopolitan group of impeccably dressed travelers, and enough wicked twists and turns to leave audiences guessing until the final, shocking denouement. Watch the trailer here.
Turning Red – March 11, 2022 (Pixar) #Turning Red
Disney and Pixar’s “Turning Red” introduces Mei Lee (voice of Rosalie Chiang), a confident, dorky 13-year-old torn between staying her mother’s dutiful daughter and the chaos of adolescence. Her protective, if not slightly overbearing mother, Ming (voice of Sandra Oh), is never far from her daughter—an unfortunate reality for the teenager. And as if changes to her interests, relationships and body weren’t enough, whenever she gets too excited (which is practically ALWAYS), she “poofs” into a giant red panda! Watch the trailer here.
DOCTOR STRANGE in the Multiverse of Madness – May 6, 2022 (Marvel)
The sequel to Doctor Strange (2016) Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is MCU’s 28th film. It will reunite Stephen Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) and Wong (Benedict Wong), the new Sorcerer Supreme, with Christine Palmer (Rachel McAdams) and Baron Mordo (Chiwetel Ejiofor) when Strange casts a spell that opens the door to the multiverse, including an alternate version of himself – who may threaten to destroy the universe. Watch the teaser trailer here.
