Top 10 Best Disney World Rides
Avatar Flight of Passage/Soarin’ Around the World
It’s a tie for first place with equal bloggers voting for Avatar Flight of Passage at Disney’s Animal Kingdom theme park, and Soarin’ Around the World at Disney’s Epcot. Both have similar ariel adventures but with completely different experiences. In Flight of Passage, you ride the back of a banshee while exploring the sites and sounds of the Avatar world. It’s truly incredible and my personal favorite ride. In Soarin’ you hang glide above the world’s most breathtaking wonders. Both rides offer virtual experiences unlike any other ride on the planet!
Allison from Jones Family Travels says, “There are so many fun rides at Disney World, but Flight of Passage is #1.”
It’s a Small World/Big Thunder Mountain Railroad
It’s a Small World and Big Thunder Mountain Railroad are both at Magic Kingdom theme park and tied for second place in the best Disney World rides. Sing along to the classic of World Peace on what’s been dubbed “the happiest cruise that ever sailed.” This 10-minute journey aboard “It’s a Small World” offers guests a relaxed boat ride amid a vibrant, multi-colored backdrop of dimple darlings from around the world. While Big Thunder Mountain offers a more thrilling roller coaster ride set in the desert caverns. This is a bumpy ride, but lots of fun!
Janice Brady of An Open Suitcase said, “The classics will always top my list.” While Lisa Cameron of Adventures in Familyhood who’s a “self-proclaimed ride chicken” named It’s a Small World as one of the rides that “bring me the most joy at Walt Disney World.”
Expedition Everest
Hurl 80 feet down the base of Expedition Everest at Disney’s Animal Kingdom park! This exciting roller coaster is a family favorite of ours. Don’t let the Yeti monster catch you!
Tina M. Brown of Footprints in Pixie Dust included all thrill rides in her lineup of favorite Walt Disney World rides. Other attractions she names as her top rides include Twilight Zone Tower of Terror, and Rock ‘n Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith.
Seven Dwarf’s Mine Train/Tower of Terror
Seven Dwarf’s Mine Train is a family-friendly roller coaster at Magic Kingdom theme park. Whistle a cheery “Heigh-Ho” and relive some of the magic from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs aboard a speeding mine cart. While Tower of Terror at Disney’s Hollywood Studios takes guests on a frightening adventure to the 5th dimension so hold on tight!
Theresa Mabe from In Sight: Full Life says Tower of Terror is a favorite “for the thrills.”
Slinky Dog Dash Roller Coaster
Slinky Dog Dash is now open at the newly expanded Hollywood Studios theme park! Set in Andy’s backyard at Toy Story Land, Slinky Dog Dash takes guests on a toy-filled adventure through fun twists and turns. Just when you think the ride is over, you go, go, go for more swooping fun aboard Slinky Dog! Want to know what it’s like? Check out our onboard video here!
Carrie Hurst from A Princess and Her Pirates names Slinky Dog Dash Roller Coaster as one of her top 5 favorite rides!
Test Track
Buckle up for one fun ride aboard a special SIM Car on Test Track at Epcot where you’ll hit peak speeds around 65 miles per hour!
Splash Mountain
Rounding out the top 10 best Disney World rides is Splash Mountain at Magic Kingdom park. The ride invites you to clap and sing to several classic Disney songs on your watery journey, but before long you’re taking a 5 story plunge into the water for a nice cool down in Florida’s heat.
Lucy McKenzie of Gigglebox Tells it Like it is shared, “We love all the mountains (Big Thunder Mountain, Space Mountain, and Splash Mountain).”
