We’ve talked about Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles several times on the blog. As 80’s kids, my husband and I are long time fans, and enjoy passing down some of our favorite pastimes to the boys. During a stay at Nickelodeon Suites Resort the boys even had a chance to meet the TMNT gang in person. Boy was that a treat!
So you can imagine their surprise when a fun TMNT 2 prize pack showed up at our doorstep just in time for World Turtle Day. They couldn’t wait to put on their favorite ninja turtle t-shirts and masks! By the way – you will also have a chance to win some of this cool gear too! Plus a local family will win 4 VIP tickets to the advanced screening in Orlando!

World Turtle Day is celebrated on May 23rd each year, and brings awareness to turtles and tortoises. People around the world represent the day in many ways including, dressing up as turtles or wearing green to completing fun crafts and volunteering. In honor of the special day, we visited the Orlando Sea Life Aquarium over the weekend for a fun family day of education and exploration.
Wondering how you can help? There are a number of ways including not purchasing turtles from pet stores and feeding the cruel pet trade that removes turtles from their natural habitat. If you see a turtle that needs rescuing, remove it from the road and place it back in its natural environment, or contact an organization to help. For sea turtles you can make sure beaches are litter-free and be mindful of their nests.

The turtles spring into action to battle Shredder, mad scientist Baxter Stockman, Bebop, Rocksteady and the notorious Krang in NYC. The film stars Megan Fox, Stephen Amell, Will Arnett, Brian Tee, Tyler Perry, Brittany Ishibashi, Laura Linney and William Fichtner.
