Disney’s Christopher Robin was beyond what I expected! I will be the first one to tell you, I’m not a big Winnie the Pooh fan. While this hunny-loving bear is pretty cute, it just wasn’t something I was drawn to growing up. All of those feelings have changed after seeing the live-action Christopher Robin film. The filmmakers have transformed this nostalgic, classic tale into a real-life charming film. Christopher Robin is beautifully created and full of heart and so much laughter. Read on for my full Christopher Robin movie review!
Christopher Robin Movie Review
In the heartwarming live action adventure Disney’s “Christopher Robin,” the young boy who embarked on countless adventures in the Hundred Acre Wood with his band of spirited and lovable stuffed animals, has grown up and lost his way. Now it is up to his childhood friends to venture into our world and help Christopher Robin remember the loving and playful boy who is still inside.
Ewan McGregor was born to play this role! I can’t imagine a better actor to portray a grown-up Christopher Robin. It’s truly magical seeing the story unfold with these real-life Winnie the Pooh characters. I want my own Winnie the Pooh after watching this film.
Doing Nothing Often Leads to the Very Best Something
The story begins with a young Christopher Robin who loves to play in hundred acre wood with Pooh, Piglet and the rest of the gang. When his parents send him away to boarding school, he has one last special moment with Pooh where he tells him he will return. The movie quickly jumps ahead a few years, and then another few years, and before Christopher Robin knows it, he’s a grown man with a family of his own. Meanwhile, Pooh and friends are still in hundred acre wood, but one day all of his friends go missing. He heads to the city in search of his very best friend, Christopher Robin. Pooh and Christopher Robin go on quite the adventure, but you’ll have to head to theaters to see what happens next!
What I was most surprised about was how this adorable bear tugs at my heartstrings and provides the biggest belly laughs. My boys and I laughed and laughed at all of Pooh’s silly sayings. I can’t say enough good things about this wonderful family film! Christopher Robin arrives in theaters Friday, August 3rd. You and your family are going to love it! It also has this wonderful underlying storyline that reminds you to take time to slow down, enjoy the moments, and use your imagination.
I hope you enjoyed this Christopher Robin movie review!
