I was invited as media to an early screening of the movie. All opinions are mine alone.
I told you my last trip to LA was wild! Between set visits of Disney’s all-new shows Bunk’d and Gamer’s Guide to chatting it up with the Ant-Man cast, I also had a chance to sit down with the Descendants Director Kenny Ortega. Of course we got an early screening of the film before talking to him. This movie is fantastic you guys – your entire family is going to love it!
In case you missed my earlier Q&A post with Kenny Ortega, here’s a little backstory on Descendants:
The offspring of Disney’s royals and villains are all grown up! Ben, the teenaged son of King Beast and Queen Belle, is about to ascend the throne. His first proclamation is offering the exiled children of defeated villains (Maleficient, Cruella De Vil, Jafar, and Evil queen) a chance at redemption. These villainous descendants are allowed into Auradon to attend a prep school alongside the offspring of iconic Disney heroes. However, the evil teens are under pressure by their parents to help all the villains regain power by stealing the Fairy Godmother’s magic wand. Are they rotten to the core?
My thoughts on Descendants:
The combination of the talent, dance numbers and songs make this movie a hit! The songs are really catchy – you’ll find yourself singing “Rotten to the Core,” just wait! There’s also a really great story line that everyone can benefit from: don’t judge a book by its cover and believe in yourself. It’s definitely a family friendly film. I won’t be shelling out any spoilers today, so you’ll just have to tune in tonight!

(Disney Channel’s Descendants Movie Review) I had just watched this movie over Labor Day weekend at my brother’s house and thought it was pretty good.
