Disney Pixar’s Elemental Movie Review
About the film: Disney and Pixar’s “Elemental” is an all-new, original feature film set in Element City, where Fire-, Water-, Earth- and Air-residents live together. The story introduces Ember, a tough, quick-witted and fiery young woman, whose friendship with a fun, sappy, go-with-the-flow guy named Wade challenges her beliefs about the world they live in.
From the very first frame, it is evident that Pixar has poured its heart and soul into creating a breathtaking cinematic experience that resonates with audiences of all ages. Every frame is a work of art, meticulously crafted with stunning attention to detail. The vibrant colors, fluid movements, and breathtaking landscapes transport viewers into a world where fire dances, water cascades, earth trembles, and air gusts with life.
However, it is not just the animation that makes Elemental exceptional; it is the film’s ability to weave a compelling narrative within the realm of these elemental forces. The voice cast brings these characters to life with remarkable talent, infusing each line with the perfect blend of emotion and charm.
I had the opportunity to join a virtual press conference with Leah Lewis (“Ember Lumen”), Mamoudou Athie (“Wade Ripple”), Ari Leff (LAUV) (Singer–Songwriter), Peter Sohn (Director), and Denise Ream (Producer). I learned that this film is 7 years in the making! When Disney and Pixar set out to make a movie – they make every effort to do it right and not rush the process.
It was so interesting to hear the backstory of the film and the appreciation Peter felt for his immigrant parents. It really shines through in the film. Both Leah and Mamoudou do an incredible job voicing Ember and Wade in the film, and it was so touching to hear their own personal connections to their characters.
Whether you’re a child or an adult, this film will captivate you from start to finish, leaving you in awe of the wondrous magic that can be found in the elements that surround us. Prepare to be swept away on an unforgettable adventure that will touch your heart and ignite your imagination.
Is Pixar’s Elemental Movie for Kids?
Yes! This film truly captivates all audiences. I recommend the movie for ages 5 and up. There is a push-the-boundaries moment where they throw in a character saying a word that sounds like a curse word. The film is FULL of funny puns and play-on-word moments that will keep you laughing throughout.
Elemental is simply magical and a must-see in theaters!
Disney Pixar Short – Carl’s Date
Releasing in front of “Elemental” is a new short that catches up with Carl Fredricksen and his lovable talking dog, Dug, who were introduced in Pixar’s Oscar®-winning feature “Up.” This all-new short, “Carl’s Date,” finds Carl reluctantly agreeing to go on a date with a lady friend—but admittedly with no idea how dating works these days. Ever the helpful friend, Dug steps in to calm Carl’s pre-date jitters and offer
some tried-and-true tips for making friends—if you’re a dog…
