Step up your game at your next football party or tailgate by serving up some delicious cocktails! Today I’m sharing a favorite game day cocktail recipe – Hot Chocolate Peppermint Martinis. Using just a few ingredients you can pull off a delicious beverage that reminds guests of the winter season while enjoying the big game.
I’m a World Market Ambassador. Today’s recipe is sponsored, however, all opinions are my own.
What are you going to do with all those leftover candy canes from the holidays? Use them for cocktails! While guests are chowing down on game day food and cheering for their favorite teams, whip up one of these martinis for the ladies in the group. They will love it!
Hot Chocolate Peppermint Martini
What you’ll need:
- 2 Peppermint Candy Canes
- Marshmallow Topping
- 4 ounces of Chocolate Liqueur
- 2 ounces Vanilla Vodka
- 2 ounces Half & Half or low-fat Milk
- 1/4 teaspoon Torani Peppermint Syrup
*yields 2
Directions:
Place candy canes in a resealable plastic bag, close bag, and use the back of a spatula or large spoon to crush candy into small pieces. Or, process in a food processor until coarsely crushed.
Next, dip the rim of martini glass into the marshmallow topping, then into crushed candies. Drizzle some marshmallow inside the glass using a spoon, then place into the freezer.
It takes just a few minutes in the freezer and they’ll come out looking like this. Once the cocktail is placed in the martini glass, the drink will have a cool edge to it with the marshmallow design.
Fill the cocktail shaker with 2/3 ice, then add chocolate liqueur, vanilla vodka, half and half, and peppermint syrup. Shake until well mixed and chilled. Strain into martini glasses and serve immediately.
Wowza! That looks delicious, doesn’t it? Trust me – it is! Guests will get the full effect of a hot chocolate cocktail as they sip on the marshmallow and peppermint-rimmed glass.
Want to know where to find game day food? Check out World Market! I found many items for both the recipe and football tablescape, including Torani flavored syrup, martini glasses, chalkboard picks, a cocktail shaker, and more.
We hope you and your guests love this Hot Chocolate Peppermint Martini recipe.
Cheers! And please drink responsibly.

I don’t usually drink any alcohol because I don’t like the taste but with all that chocolate, I think I may have just found one I would love!

I might actually enjoy this more than the Chick Fil A milkshake. I should come over and let you make me a few of these, and then I’ll have to sleep in the guest room. LOL. World Market is a favorite for me. We had one in Naperville when I lived there 10 years ago and I suffered without one back here in Orlando for years before Winter Garden opened. Best store ever.
