Homemade Blackberry Crisp Recipe
Have you ever taken the family berry picking? It’s A LOT of fun! Look for a local farm near you that has open days to visit and pick your own berries. Oftentimes throughout the year, they run family days with additional entertainment on the farm like hay rides, bounce houses, and more.
Today we topped our blackberry crisp with blackberry ice cream. It also tastes delicious with vanilla ice cream too! Tip: once blackberry season is over, simply swap the blackberries for apples or another berry that’s in season and follow the same steps below.

Ingredients:
- 8 cups fresh blackberries
- 1/3 cup all-purpose flour + 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/3 cup sugar
- 1 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 1/2 cups rolled oats
- 1/2 cup dark brown sugar, lightly packed
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cut into pieces
- Pinch of kosher salt
Blackberry Crisp directions:
- Preheat oven to 350°F degrees
- In a 9×13 baking dish add rinsed and patted dry blackberries. Set aside.
- In a small bowl add 1/3 cup flour, 1/3 cup sugar, and cinnamon. Mix together and spoon over the blackberries, gently mix together.
- In a medium bowl add rolled oats, 1/2 cup flour, brown sugar, salt, and butter. Using a pastry knife or 2 butter knives, mix together until the ingredients are crumbly. Spoon topping over blackberries.
- Bake for 45-55 minutes or until the topping is golden brown and the blackberry mixture is bubbling.
Top with fresh ice cream and enjoy!
