Looking for the perfect double stroller? Read our thoughts and experience with the Joovy Ergo Caboose Sit-n-Stand Stroller. You won’t believe all the features this stroller has, almost as many as my car!
I was beyond thrilled to find out I had won a Joovy Caboose stroller from another blogger a few months ago. I am a big fan of Sit-n-Stand strollers and Joovy is a top-of-the-line baby gear company. Win-win for me! I couldn’t wait to test it out.
The large box arrived and it had a bit of assembly required before the kids could jump right in. It took my husband about 15 minutes total to complete the assembly of the double stroller.
Here are the Joovy Ergo Caboose stroller specs:
Folded Dimensions 15″H x 24″W x 49″L
Full Dimensions: 42″H x 24″W x 49″L
Stroller Weight: 29 lbs (15-25% lighter than competitors)
Front Seat Min Age: 6 months+
Front Seat Max Weight: 45 lbs and 40″ Max Height
Rear Seat Max Weight: 45 lbs and 44″ Max Height
The front seat can also hold a car seat and is compatible with 12 different brands including Graco, Safety 1st, Britax, and more!
The Joovy Caboose back offers a bench for sitting or option for the child to ride standing. It includes two large handles on either side of the stroller for the child to ride safely while standing.
This is a partnered post. All opinions are my own.
The Joovy Ergo is a first of its’ kind offering a back canopy that easily unzips so the child can have coverage from the sun while seated or unzip to stand up. I love this feature!! It still has plenty of breathable room too. The canopy is completely removable as well.
The back seat is roomy and even flips up for easy access to the large storage basket which also houses a tire pump! Seriously, Joovy has thought of practically everything! The thick rear tires combined with front wheel suspension allow for a smooth comfortable ride plus easy mobility for the parents.
The enormous front canopy provides plenty of shade for your little one as well. Just look at the difference below.
The front seat has a magnetic recline lock for easy seat adjustments. The transitional mesh seat is the most advanced stroller seat available today. This ergonomically designed seat helps eliminate pressure points by evenly distributing the child’s weight across the entire mesh seat; this technology keeps working as your child grows. It includes a 5 point buckle system with three height options.
I appreciate a stroller company that considers what is easiest for the customer. The Joovy Ergo Caboose offers a front seat swing-out tray which allows the parent to easily load and unload their child. The front tray is removable and Joovy includes optional cup holders to put in its place. This option is good once your child is a bit older and does not need the tray for snacks and toys.
And as I mentioned above, this double stroller includes a large storage basket for housing even the biggest diaper bags!
Overall I am very impressed with the functionality and quality of the Joovy Ergo Caboose. It rides smooth, is fairly easy to open and close and looks great! I have two cons to this amazing stroller; one would be that it does not have a free-standing option. In my personal experience, most strollers allow for it to stand upright for easy loading and unloading into the vehicle, and garage storage. I would love to see Joovy create a “fix” for this option to be included with the stroller. I also prefer a one-hand unfold option. The Ergo has a latch on either side that has to be unfastened to open the stroller making it a two-step process instead of one.
The Ergo offers some really neat add-on features. For ultimate comfort and a splash of color the optional Deluxe Seat Covers provide heavy-duty padding and they are available in 7 different colors. You can also purchase a Ergo Parent Organizer. I couldn’t have a stroller without cup holders and a place to store my phone, keys, etc. I like that the organizer includes a zippered pouch as well.
The award-winning Joovy Ergo Caboose Double Stroller sold for $399.99, but has been discontinued. Here’s a few other Joovy stroller options available now. Here’s our review of the Joovy Groove Stroller.

I bought this today at buy buy baby. I’ve been eyeing it since finding out we’re expecting. I was slightly disappointed with the recline option, has that been an issue with a sleeping little one? Thanks!!

My daughter’s really been into standing on the cart lately when we’re out shopping. I wonder if she’d be willing to give this a try – it looks perfect for her and the baby!

I’ve always wanted to try a sit and stand, my only concerns are that my little man isn’t old enough to handle either standing the whole time we’re out even if he doesn’t have to walk or that he’ll constantly be jumping off of it!
