Recently my family and I attended a special conference at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort. It was our first time visiting and staying at the property, however we are no strangers to the Disney World parks. Being Floridians, we are graced with opportunities to enjoy the numerous theme parks in our area. This Disney experience has been our greatest thus far!
During the #DisneySMMC conference my family enjoyed the Yacht Club Resort ammenities and spent time at the 4 Disney World theme parks. At night we encountered special events, including an amazing Epcot fireworks experience. I will definitely be delving into all of those details in a later post, so stay tuned! Since summer is right around the corner, I know many families will be taking vacations and possibly visiting the Walt Disney World theme parks. We all know Florida can be HOT, so I’m sharing my tips on how to keep cool during the summer months.
Disney World Tips
Tip #1:
Consider packing a lightweight mesh cooler to bring to the parks. It is okay to bring small insulated coolers (think lunch bags) to Walt Disney World. Fill a ziploc bag with ice and place that at the bottom to keep drinks cool. Pack plenty of water bottles so you have a drink handy when needed. Not only will you save some money, but you will stay hydrated which is very important during summer months.
Tip #2:
Enjoy a cool treat. There’s nothing like a delicious ice cream treat when it’s hot outside. It is sure to cool you down pretty fast. Our favorite place to grab a cone is at Magic Kingdom’s Plaza Ice Cream shop on Main Street. They feature Edy’s ice cream and the kids cone’s (like the one my little guy is holding below) is only $3!
If you are traveling with kids, consider investing in a Geleeo stroller liner. This award winning product provides a constant, gentle cooling sensation for your little ones to keep them cool during summer’s heat. It’s super easy to attach to your child’s stroller and requires no additional steps. Simply buckle your child in and go! The material is waterproof and offered in a variety of color choices. We spent 2 full weekends at the park and never once did L complain of being hot.
Another day at the parks with the @GeleeoPad. Love that this is keeping baby comfy & cool! #DisneySMMC pic.twitter.com/bhE0p7tH8r

Tip #4: Ride the rides! Many of the rides offer fans or air conditioned lines to keep you cool. Once you get on a ride, like the all-new Seven Dwarfs Mine Train you will quickly cool off from the breeze.
Tip #5: Lastly, head to the dollar store or $1 bins at retail stores and pick up a spray bottle. This is a great way to keep cool while visiting the parks. You can refill the water bottles at drinking fountains located throughout the park. It’s a very inexpensive way to cool down during summer’s heat. And if you forget, Walt Disney parks have fan spray bottles for purchase that can keep you cool too!
Where to find Geleeo: Find it nationwide at retailers like Babies R Us and amazon.com. You can also find it at many baby stores in your area too!

These are all great tips, and we would use a Geleeo at Disney as well. Actually, we would probably use one all the time b/c we live where it gets incredibly hot in the summer, and our stroller gets warm if outside too much.

Thanks for all of the great tips. I would love to take my grandchildren to Disney World someday.

These are some great tips. It is hard to have fun when you are hot and uncomfortable. We’ll be in Florida over Labor Day weekend and will need to use some of these!
