Bad Hair Day premieres this Friday, Feb 13th on the Disney Channel. While in LA last weekend, our blogger group had a chance to sit down and watch the film with Leigh-Allyn!
You may recognize Leigh-Allyn Baker from her starring role on Disney Channel’s sitcom Good Luck Charlie. This is her first time starring and executive producing a film. After screening the movie at Disney Channel we had a 30-minute Q&A session with Leigh-Allyn about the film. I’ll be sharing more details about #BadHairDay on the blog Friday, but today it’s all about Leigh-Allyn Baker!
First of all Leigh-Allyn rocks! I would totally hang with her in real life (if I could be so blessed). She has such a cool personality and is completely relatable on so many levels. She spoke a lot about being a mom and how she thinks carefully about the roles she selects. One of my favorite quotes from Leigh-Allyn (LA) is, “If I’m going to be away from my kids and work – I’m going to have fun.” That was in reference to her selecting more comedic roles over serious ones.
Leigh-Allyn Baker Q&A
Sitting down with our group of 25 bloggers was LA’s first chance to hear an audiences’ reaction to the film. LA shares that the inspiration behind Bad Hair Day is “to make people laugh, and secondly to give the audience a unique and empowering message.” She also shares that Bad Hair Day “is a film parents can watch with their kids and has a great message for girls.”
When asked why she decided to step into the role of executive producer for the first time, LA mentions that her husband playfully said, “they’re finally going to pay you for micromanaging everyone elses job.” She also follows up by saying, “she was tempted to see if she had it in her to see [the movie] be built from the ground up.” When asked what her favorite part of filming was, LA shares that the film “was a ride for her because it was made in just 22 days!” She also mentions that the chemistry between her and co-star Laura Marano was a lot of fun.
LA shares that “she’s just a mom who does this crazy thing that I love for a living.” And that her role model was always her grandmother, but her favorite comedic icons are Madeline Kahn and Diane Keaton. She also mentions that she’s known she wanted to do comedy and help children from a very early age, and it wasn’t less than 6 months ago that it hit her, “she’s an adult in a kids world and this is exactly what I wanted to do.”
After the Q&A session Leigh-Allyn Baker took individual photos with each and every blogger – which was really cool. She was incredibly down to earth and super funny. She also cared about our reaction to the film and hearing about our kids.
So tune into the Disney Channel this Friday, Feb 13th at 8/7 central to watch Bad Hair Day.
The picture below plays a significant role in the movie so I’m giving you that teaser for now. 😉 Follow up with me Friday morning for a full review of this Disney Channel original movie, then join me in watching it premiere Friday night. I’m excited to watch the movie with my boys and see their reactions too.

What a fun opportunity for you Jennifer. My daughter and I enjoyed watching the movie together yesterday. Loved the life lessons shared in there with calling for backup and trusting in your own opinion.
