Who’s ready for summer? Here’s a super fun craft to do with kids that will keep them entertained for hours! We’re showing you the easy steps to make Galaxy Slime. This easy DIY for kids is perfect for an end of year school party, or summer craft. As an added bonus, this Galaxy Slime glows in the dark too!
How to Make Galaxy Slime
Slime has become an uber popular kids craft. This easy DIY for kids will be a huge hit! Because slime is a science project, we highly recommend parental supervision while kids make the slime.
Here’s how to make Galaxy Slime:
Supplies:
1 cup of cornstarch
3/4 cup of water
Extra fine black glitter
Small silver star confetti
Blue glow in the dark powder (about a teaspoon)
A craft stick
Directions:
Mix the glow in the dark powder with the cornstarch.
Slowly add the water to the blue cornstarch.
Add a generous amount of extra fine black glitter and silver star confetti.
Begin to mix the slime with the craft stick.
As it begins to clump together begin kneading by hand.
Your slime is ready when it is dry to touch but squishy!
If your slime is too runny add a pinch more cornstarch.
This Galaxy Slime glows in the dark too!
This slime will glow in the dark if left to ‘charge’ in the sun. You can also use a black light to really bring out the glow!
Slime Tips:
I always recommend using a tablecloth, or another type of barrier so you don’t chance damaging your table top. Store the slime in a Tupperware container for safe keeping.
How to Remove Slime from Clothing
If you’re wondering how to clean the slime off clothes – because it is sticky and can sometimes wind up on them – vinegar takes it right out! Just pour a little vinegar on the spot, scrub with a small brush, rinse and voila the slime is gone!
