Just in time for the holiday season, Nintendo is releasing several new Nintendo Switch games. Check out this list of Nintendo Switch New Releases for 2022! It’s hard to pick a favorite at this point, but Pokemon Scarlet and Pokemon Violet are definitely at the top of my boy’s wishlist.

Nintendo Switch New Releases 2022
Pokemon Scarlet and Pokemon Violet (Avail November 18th)
Catch, battle, and train Pokémon in the Paldea Region, a vast land filled with lakes, towering peaks, wastelands, small towns, and sprawling cities. Explore a wide-open world at your own pace and traverse land, water, and air by riding on a form-shifting Legendary Pokémon—Koraidon in Pokémon Scarlet and Miraidon in Pokémon Violet. Choose either Sprigatito, Fuecoco, or Quaxly, to be your first partner Pokémon before setting off on your journey through Paldea. Rated E for Everyone. Games sold separately.
Kirby’s Dream Buffet (available now)
Race through delicious obstacle courses to collect strawberries as Kirby grows. Then, turn the tides in the final round—a fruity fight atop a floating platform. Rated E for Everyone.
Kirby and the Forgotten Land (available now)
Float off on an adventure as the powerful puffball, Kirby. Explore 3D stages as you discover a mysterious world with abandoned structures from a past civilization – like a shopping mall?! Copy enemies’ abilities like Drill and Ranger and use them to attack, explore your surroundings and save the kidnapped Waddle Dees from the ferocious Beast Pack alongside the adorable Elfilin. Splatoon 3 (available now)
Splatsville, the city of chaos, is the adrenaline-fueled heart of this dusty wasteland. Even in this desolate environment, Turf War* reigns supreme and battles rage in new stages located in the surrounding wilds. Dynamic new moves help these fighters dodge attacks and cover more ground, along with a new bow-shaped weapon to sling ink. Rated Everyone 10+
My son is LOVING this new game! The abundance of accessories and gear is awesome. The storyline and graphics are cool too. He’s having so much fun playing.
Nintendo Switch Sports (available now)
Get moving with Soccer, Volleyball, Bowling, Tennis, Badminton, and Chambara (swordplay) using Joy-Con controllers! Controls are intuitive, so you can hit the court (or lanes, or field, or arena). With controlled motions you can curve your bowling ball, add spin to a tennis shot or even use a Joy-Con with the included Leg Strap accessory to kick the ball in Soccer. Coming this holiday season is a 7th sport: Golf! Rated Everyone 10+
This is our go-to game for family game night! My favorite is bowling (I’m the reigning champ in this house of boys!) We’re looking forward to checking out the new golf game soon!
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Booster Course Pass (available with expansion pack membership)
A total of 48 more courses from throughout the Mario Kart series are racing to the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe game as paid DLC*. Courses include those based on real-world locations like Paris Promenade and Tokyo Blur from the Mario Kart Tour game, in addition to nostalgic favorites like DS Waluigi Pinball and Wii Coconut Mall! Content will release in six waves of eight courses until the end of 2023. Rated E for Everyone.
Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope (available Oct 20th)
Team up with Mario, Luigi, Rabbid Peach, Rabbid Luigi, and their friends on a journey to defeat a malevolent entity and save your Spark companions! Mario Strikers: Battle League (available now)
Introducing Strike, a 5-on-5, soccer-like sport with no rules – do whatever it takes to win! Get gritty and try to score the most goals by tackling enemies, using items and pulling off score-boosting Hyper Strikes. Pummel the pitch with up to eight players. Rated Everyone 10+
Disney Speedstorm (available soon)
Drift into the ultimate hero-based combat racing game, set on high-speed circuits inspired by Disney and Pixar worlds. Master each character’s unique skills on the racetrack and claim victory in this thrilling arcade racing experience from the creators of the Asphalt series! Rated E for Everyone. FREE once available later this year!

It Takes Two (available Nov 4th)
Team up and cooperate with a friend in this critically acclaimed co-op platforming adventure. Venture through fantastical worlds filled with challenges around every corner. In addition to single-system play, the game can also be played on two systems via local wireless or online with a pal via the free Friend’s Pass. Not yet rated.
Sonic Frontiers (available Nov 8th)
Worlds are colliding in Sonic the Hedgehog’s newest high-speed adventure! In search of the missing Chaos emeralds, Sonic becomes stranded on an ancient island teeming with unusual creatures. Just Dance 2023 (available Nov 22nd)
Now with new modes, personalization, 3D immersive worlds, and new songs, you can experience a never-ending dance party all year long*. And for the first time, dance to record-breaking South Korean boy band BTS with “Dynamite” and other new tracks from the latest hits to classic oldies. Not yet rated.
TMNT The Cowabunga Collection (available now)
13 radical games from KONAMI’s entire archive of retro 8-bit, 16-bit, and arcade Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles titles! These classics have been adapted for modern gaming systems with a fantastic set of quality-of-life features, local couch co-op, and online play. Rated T for Teen.
TMNT Shredder’s Revenge (available now)
With a blend of retro and modern visuals, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge finds the four favorite turtles kicking some serious shell in classic arcade-style beat-’em-up action. Enjoy pixelated and colorful graphics and a vintage TMNT spirit that will take you back to the fantastic 1980s. All the characters, vehicles, weapons, items, and scenes are directly inspired by the 1987 TV series and will make you feel like you jumped directly inside a television. Rated Everyone 10+
