More about the Osmo Coding Kit
Included in the Osmo Genius Kit is an iPad stand, suitable for iPad 2, 3, 4, Mini, Air, Air 2 and the 9.7-inch iPad Pro. It takes just a few moments to download and pair your iPad with the Genius Kit. Once paired your children are ready to explore the apps: Words, Tangram, Newton, Masterpiece, and Numbers. Using the interactive pieces in the Genius Kit, your child can expand his spelling knowledge, solve problems with Tangrams, and much more.
STEM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering and Math, and STEM products encourage kids to develop core skills in these areas.
Our thoughts on the Osmo Gaming System
With the Genius Kit your iPad becomes a great teaching tool for kids. My boys couldn’t wait to open the packaging and begin playing with the Tangram pieces. Once in the app, you can choose beginner, medium and hard levels, then create unique shapes with the pieces. The beginner level (show above) outlines which color belongs in each space, while the medium and harder levels show a black image challenging your kids to use their problems solving skills to figure out where the pieces belong.
Once they complete an image, they receive points and a map appears. As they work through the challenges they open more areas on the map, including a castle with more challenges inside.
The Number and Words apps offer math, science and spelling games, while the Masterpiece app teaches kids how to draw with unique outlines. As they work through the apps, they earn points for a job well done.

I purchased this for my children as a fun way to introduce them to creating sequences in a coding format that is both fun and educational. Awbie is a wonderful way of learning the basics of coding skills, starting out with the simplest steps and building to more complex sequences that are more challenging in a non-forceful, non-failure driven way.
The coding pieces are simple, easy to use, and attach to each other without being cumbersome. The game itself is enticing and go-at-your-own-pace, so even the most inexperienced players can have an opportunity to learn. Those with skills will enjoy the game as well, and Osmo has several additional coding games for more intermediate levels as well.
All in all, this has been a wonderful game for our children to learn sequence, logic and solve simple puzzles.

I think this would be really fun and a neat way to learn. STEM can be pretty dry but in this context it makes it come tol life.
