However, with the increase in online shopping and package delivery for my home business, I had to go beyond looking through the peephole. The Panasonic HomeHawk Wireless Home Monitoring System was the perfect solution for securing our front door and offering me peace of mind.

Panasonic HomeHawk Wireless Home Monitoring System
A few years ago, I had my husband install some really clunky cameras that required an outdoor outlet. Thankfully our home is a new build and had outlets near the entrances, but I knew at any point someone could walk up and unplug them, resulting in lost footage. Additionally, their app was unreliable and after a few short months, I could no longer access live footage. The “security cameras” were pretty much a dud.
The Panasonic HomeHawk has changed all of those concerns for us. Their wireless home monitoring system is not only a breeze to install, but their app offers a reliable way to keep track of security alerts – and even works with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant!
Here are some of my favorite stand-out features of the Panasonic HomeHawk Camera System:
The sleek design. Unlike other security monitoring cameras, the HomeHawk offers a slim look that blends in with your home. It’s the opposite of bulky and showy and may go unnoticed by most visitors.
100% Wireless. The Panasonic HomeHawk is powered by a long-life rechargeable battery that’s included. Before installing, you’ll use the included USB to fully charge the camera.
Simple Installation. Using the included wall mount adapter and screws, you simply attach the HomeHawk to your front door area. The ideal installation height is 7ft 3 inches. You then snap the camera onto the bracket and that is it! This process takes less than 5 minutes. Seriously – it can’t get any easier!
Super Wide Angle View. Unlike other cameras, the HomeHawk offers a 172-degree view from top to bottom and side to side. Check out the difference in a standard camera view versus the HomeHawk here. From this slim door camera, I can see my entire porch, as well as a large portion of the sidewalk and even the street! Plus look how clear the picture quality is, in addition to color night vision technology.
2-way Talk. Yes, the HomeHawk includes a built-in speaker where you can communicate with the person on the other side of the door. Simply open the Pansonic HomeHawk app and select the camera you want to view. Then press and hold the speaker icon to speak with the person at your door. It’s that easy.
You can also take a live photo or record by pressing the other icons. To record, you will need a microSDHC or microSDXC card. (32 GB is recommended) I got one on Amazon for less than $10.
Exclusive Package Monitoring Mode. When someone approaches your front door, HomeHawk will notify the person with an audio alert. Click here to see an example of that alert. Additionally, when you select Mode from the app, you can configure other settings, including turning the vocal alert off. The app is really simple to use as well as view your cameras and recorded alerts too.
Other notable features include the option to expand your outdoor monitoring by 15 additional cameras around your property. The front door camera is weather-resistant too (IP65 rating, operating temp, -4F degrees to 122F).
Prices vary depending on the package. The KX-HN7001W model includes 1 front door HD camera and wireless access point base. Other packages include 2 and 3 camera bundles, as well as add-on cameras.
