I have been invited as media to attend these events. Expenses have been paid in exchange for my coverage. All opinions are my own.
The season finale of ABC’s hit show Revenge airs tonight (Sunday) at 10pm EST. I remember watching the show pilot and turning to my husband and saying, “Oh my God, this is my new favorite show!” We have both been hooked ever since – never missing an episode of the drama series.
If you’ve never caught the show, here’s a little back story about Revenge:
Set in the Hamptons, among wealth and privilege, Emily Thorne becomes the newest resident. Her sole purpose is not to make friends, but to seek retribution for those individuals in the community that are responsible for her father’s death. When Emily was a child she went by the name of Amanda Clarke and watched her father be ripped from her life, wrongfully accused for a crime, and later killed to keep silent. She vowed to come back for Revenge, and that’s exactly what she sets out to do. With what seems to be an unlimited amount of resources and a team of men to help her, Emily is armed and dangerous. Watch out Grayson family, she’s coming for you!
The show is riveting, and leaves you wanting more with every single episode! I had the opportunity to sit down with the Writing Executive Producer, Sunil Nayar and talk about the show.
About working with Emily Van Camp & Josh Bowman
When asked about the relationship between real life couple Emily Van Camp (Emily Thorne) and Josh Bowman (Daniel Grayson), Sunil mentions, “they’re like the greatest couple.” He also adds, “Emily and Daniel (the characters) start to fall in love in spite of themselves in the first season of the show. When you are keying into those emotions, and you look like Emily and Josh do; I think it is bound to happen. They open themselves up to each other. How could they not? They are playing a character where their job is to fall in love with this person on screen. Emily and Josh are both great actors who become immersed in their characters. Of course, they’re going to key in with what’s happening and it’s likely love will happen.”
About working with the cast and crew
Sunil mentions, “we have an open dialogue with all of the actors, writers, and producers. We want to get things right and at the end of the day they (the actors) are the ones who have to put this on screen and they have to believe in what they’re doing, or you’re not going to feel it. Our cast is remarkable. They can make anything work.
About the Season Finale
“Execution” – Nothing is off limits as Emily and Victoria are dead set on destroying each other. Lives will be lost and fates will be altered, but who will rise victorious? The Showrunner who co-wrote the season finale says, “I am so proud of it.” I was surprised to learn that they shoot very close to the airing date. It’s not like many shows who shoot several shows in advance. The producers want to make sure to get everything right for their audience. We tried very hard to get details about the season finale, but Sunil stayed tight-lipped, only mentioning someone WILL die.
Sunil Nayar is an executive producer of ABC’s “Revenge.” Prior to that, he worked on “Body of Proof,” “Three Rivers,” “CSI: Miami” and “Oz.” He began his career at New York’s Public Theater and was a Casting Director for ABC in New York.

When Daniel was killed, I was really sad! He was just getting his life together, and a son on the way!
Once they brought back Emma’s Dad, I figured the Revenge was over? Lots of twist and turns on this show!
