Rock the Universe Orlando is a huge Christian music festival held annually at Universal Orlando Resort. In addition to an all-star lineup of top Christian artists playing live, guests can enjoy theme park rides, restaurants, and experience a special candle-lighting ceremony followed by a morning worship service on Sunday. Our guest writer, Melissa, covered this fun weekend event – check out her recap below!

2018 Rock the Universe Orlando
Rock the Universe is such a great event, and this year was just as awesome! Our wristbands allowed us entrance to the Youth Leader Lounges which also included fast passes for the rides! While waiting for one of the concerts to start, we headed right over to the Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit and enjoyed rocking out to our chosen song while riding. Next, we headed to the Youth Leader Lounges that opened at 6:30 in Lombard’s. They had complimentary cold water and cokes, along with chips, dip, salsa, brownies, and cookies for the youth group leaders. They didn’t have this the last time I went, and I really enjoyed the ice cold water as it was a bit warm on Friday night.
We also were able to check out some of Universal Orlando’s newest rides including Fast & Furious – Supercharged and Race Through New York Starring Jimmy Fallon. They were great, and the lines weren’t very long at all. The Jimmy Fallon ride was funny and exciting. I wanted to go on it again!
We then headed over to the main stage to see Lauren Daigle (pictured below). It was her birthday, and as she walked out on stage, a large group near the front sang happy birthday to her. The area around the stage was well organized, and the crowd was so excited to hear her sing. She did an amazing job and sang a number of hit songs, as well as a few newer numbers.
TobyMac did such a great job, as usual. The huge crowd was rocking and jumping and singing along with him. He sang a variety of big hits and a song off of his new album that he mentioned was releasing in October! We were especially fond of the large screens on stage that allowed even the farthest fans to see the talent up close.
Additional talent included:
- Jesus Culture
- Red
- Zach Williams
- Trip Lee
- Casting Crowns
- for KING & COUNTRY
- Family Force 5
- Brandon Heath
- Andy Mineo
- Ryan Stevenso
Overall, I would have to say Rock the Universal Orlando was super successful and well-organized. While in line to enter, we were greeted by a staff member who was making sure we were in the right line and seeing if we had any questions. There were so many helpful staff members around whenever we had a question. There were extra staff members all around holding signs pointing to the different stages, to different rides, and to the exit. I would definitely recommend checking out Universal Studios Rock the Universe next year, which is scheduled to take place Feb 1-2 of 2019!
