Avengers Infinity War releases in theaters everywhere April 27th! I don’t know about you guys, but I was pumped to find out the film would be releasing a week earlier than expected! As a long time Marvel fan, I thought it would be fun to create an Infinity War themed recipe, so I made this Strawberry Crescent Braid with Scarlet Witch and her long red locks in mind.
Scarlet Witch Strawberry Crescent Braid Recipe
Marvel fans love a good party, right? If you’re planning an Infinity War viewing party – add this recipe to your list! P.S. I’ve included a step-by-step video below! Then check out this Loki Dinner Prank idea, Ant-Man Pie, and Thor cocktail – plus the kids will love this Infinity War slime DIY!
Strawberry Crescent Braid Ingredients:
- 1 sheet seamless crescent dough
- 1.5 cups fresh strawberries
- 1 package cream cheese
- ¼ cup sugar, divided in half
- 1 tsp vanilla
- Melted butter for brushing
Directions:
1.Wash and cut strawberries into quarters, then cook over medium-high heat with half of your sugar, stirring frequently until you have a thick texture.
2. Halfway through cooking, start mashing up your berries with a pastry cutter or fork to break up the larger pieces. Set aside to cool.
3. Beat together softened cream cheese, the rest of your sugar, and vanilla until you have a smooth texture.
4. Roll out your crescent sheet, and stretch slightly so that it grows around 1 inch around.
5. Drop generous spoonfuls of cream cheese onto the center of your dough, and spread in a line around 3 inches wide, that stops short of the top and bottom edges.
6. Cover with strawberries.
7. With a pizza cutter, starting from one of the bottom corners, make diagonal cuts every ½ – 1 inch towards the opposite corner, stopping just at your filling. Do this all the way up.
8. Grab the corner of one of your new strips, and cross over your filling, pulling upwards. Alternate this between sides with your strips to “braid” over your filling.
9. Fold the top edge in before you do your last row, and secure anything hanging out by tucking under your braids.
10. Brush with melted butter, and bake at 350 degrees for 15-20 minutes or until thick and golden brown.
11. Serve warm or cold.
