Thank you to SeptiCleanse.com for the product to review.
As first time homebuyers we have the privilege of learning things about home ownership as we go along with life. Yippee! 😉 One thing we’ve recently learned about is the importance of maintaining our septic tank.
Growing up I always lived in the Orlando city limits and was unaware of septic tanks, but now that we live outside the city our home is equipped with one. The person who appraised our home prior to us purchasing it recommended we have the tank pumped. That was the first and last thing we’ve done with it since then.
More about SeptiCleanse
That’s when I came across SeptiCleanse.com. The site is very informative and explains that in order to keep your pipes from clogging or having foul odors you must maintain them.
It makes sense to us in retrospect. Just like a car needs an oil change every few months to keep the engine running smoothly, so does a septic tank. So why is SeptiCleanse the best on the market?
- Proven to Dissolve Sludge,Grease, and Blockage up to 300X Faster than others
- Substantially lower cost per treatment than the competition
- **Comes in dissolving packets – No Lifting, Pouring, or Storing Heavy, Messy Tubs
- Bacteria in treatment multiplies by 400% every hour after use
- Safe around Children and Pets – No Dangerous Chemicals
- Guaranteed to Restore your Septic System or Drainage, NO MATTER WHAT!
I love a company that stands behind their product like SeptiCleanse does. As a mother it’s also important to consider what I bring into the home and around my children, so knowing that their product is safe around children is a plus.
We received the Heavy Shock plus 6 months of maintenance plan based on the recommendations on the SeptiCleanse site. There’s also the option of purchasing a full year of maintenance or buying the medium or light versions of the same plan.
Within a few days we had the packets at our doorstep, including really simple instructions on using their products. You simply place a packet from the shock kit into each of your toilets and….flush! That’s it. Seriously. My 4-year-old was more than excited to flush something unusual down the toilet for me. LOL!
It’s recommended that we flush one packet monthly down our toilets as maintenance. It’s simple, and most importantly effective. We’ve not encountered those rotten egg smells all month or any slow drainage.
If your home has a septic tank, I highly recommend taking control of any septic tank issues before it’s too late and you have a huge problem on your hands. We’re so glad we found SeptiCleanse!
Disclosure: All opinions are my own and may differ from yours. I received the above mentioned product for the purpose of this review. No other compensation was received.

I have a septic tank that has never been pumped or had a problem I came across this when looking at pricing–figuring I was due soon so better safe than sorry- do you think if I shock and maintain then I wont need to pump it or I should pump it first than then maintain. I lived here 4 yrs with 4 kids and 1 bathroom I don’t know when or if it was pumped before I moved in but I use ridex

Hi Doreen, thank you for your question. I think it would be best to pump first, then use the shock for reg maintenance. I’m no expert, but that’s what I would do. 🙂

Pump it first you will get a better result you will also get all the non organic items that don’t belong their and a fresh start
