If your little ones watch Disney Jr, then there is a good chance they have caught an episode or two of Sofia the First. This adorable princess in training quickly captured our hearts with her kindness and helping others’ attitude. It’s a really positive show for boys or girls to enjoy.
Sofia The First: Ready To Be A Princess
Sofia the First: Ready to Be a Princess released on Disney DVD September 17th, and is available at stores nationwide and amazon.com. We were lucky enough to get a copy just before it released. My lil guy (donning his Goofy sticker) and I sat down to watch the DVD while eating our lunch earlier this week.
What can you expect from the Sofia The First: Ready to Be a Princess DVD?
5 Episodes including:
- A Royal Mess
- The Shy Princess
- Blue Ribbon Bunny
- The Princess Test
- Two Tu Tangu
The DVD also includes a free dress-up cardboard playset with wardrobe for Sofia.
I really like the positive lessons Disney intertwines into the episodes. It helps kids learn about things like accountability, bullying, friendship, and more. Here’s a clip about making new friends:

My oldest boy has become interested in Sofia but until he told me I had not known about Sofia. We do not have cable so this would be something I would have to buy, so thank you for your review. 🙂

What a fun extra. I’m a huge fan of Sofia, due to the lessons it teaches. While I’ve nothing against the other princesses, it is good to have a reminder that princessly behavior is what’s most important.
