Have you ever dreamed of walking the red carpet for a movie premiere? I’ve watched the live coverage since I was a young girl and always marveled at the amazing talent walking the carpet in their beautiful dresses and suits, grinning from ear to ear while cameras flash and fans yell out to them. Attending the SOLO A Star Wars Story Premiere was definitely a highlight in my life. I’m sharing details from the red carpet and after party experience below!
I was invited as media to cover this event. All opinions are my own.
SOLO A Star Wars Story Premiere
I was channeling Princess Leia when I selected this dress and hairstyle. By the way that amazing dress was on clearance just a few months ago at Lulus.com. It was the perfect dress to wear for a Star Wars red carpet! I truly felt like a million bucks. For my hair, I chose a braid from my front part around the side that ended in a low bun.
Every red carpet is different. Each one is themed to go along with the film that’s being covered. Like for Million Dollar Arm the carpet was green and more casual since it was a baseball film, but SOLO was a traditional carpet. When I attended the Wrinkle in Time Premiere that carpet was blue and extra, extra long!
What I loved about the SOLO A Star Wars Story Premiere is that they built a Millennium Falcon right there on Hollywood Blvd! As I walked towards it, I could see smoke coming from underneath it. I made my way through the Millennium to the other side where I watched the stars stop for pictures at the step and repeat. And as we continued down the carpet, all of the traditional media like E! and Entertainment Tonight were there to interview the cast of SOLO.
This is actually my fifth time attending a movie premiere, and I am always humbled and incredibly grateful to receive the invite. It’s so thrilling to get dressed up and walk the carpet alongside movie stars. I try my best to take it all in, but it’s hard when your heart is beating a mile a minute!
While on the carpet I snapped selfies with celebs from the film and Dancing with the Stars too. I also spotted George Lucas, and director Ron Howard, while he was checking out the Star Wars, themed Nissan car.
SOLO World Premiere After Party
After walking the carpet, we headed into the Dolby theater to watch the film. I’ll be sharing my thoughts on that in a later post! But this was actually my first time visiting the home of the Academy Awards. It’s a beautiful theater with tons of seating. After watching the film we headed upstairs to attend the after party. Yes – I was invited to that as well!
Once inside I headed to the VIP corner to chat with the SOLO movie stars and snap selfies before the rush of people came in.
My red carpet photo buddy, Rebecca, and I spotted everyone from Alden Ehrenreich who is the young Han Solo to Mark Hamill! Everyone was so gracious, laid back, and fun. We patiently waited to speak with Woody Harrelson and Phoebe Waller-Bridge as well.
In addition to celebrities at the after party, they had entertainment like Stormtroopers making their rounds for photo opps, fun photo stations, along with food, and bar areas.
Attending a red carpet is such a magical experience! I’m so thankful for the opportunity to share it with all of you. In an upcoming post, I’m sharing my review of SOLO A Star Wars Story, and full coverage of the cast interviews as well!
I hope you enjoyed this coverage of the SOLO A Star Wars Story Premiere!
