Get ready to laugh your tail off in this all-new Sonic the Hedgehog 2 film! My boys and I enjoyed an early screening of the film over the weekend. It was a packed house! Read on for the full Sonic 2 movie review (without spoilers of course).

About the film: The world’s favorite blue hedgehog is back for a next-level adventure in SONIC THE HEDGEHOG 2. After settling in Green Hills, Sonic is eager to prove he has what it takes to be a true hero. His test comes when Dr. Robotnik returns, this time with a new partner, Knuckles, in search for an emerald that has the power to destroy civilizations. Sonic teams up with his own sidekick, Tails, and together they embark on a globe-trotting journey to find the emerald before it falls into the wrong hands.
From the filmmakers behind The Fast and the Furious and Deadpool, SONIC THE HEDGEHOG 2 stars James Marsden, Ben Schwartz as the voice of Sonic, Tika Sumpter, Natasha Rothwell, Adam Pally, and Jim Carrey returning, alongside new additions Shemar Moore, with Idris Elba as the voice of Knuckles, and Colleen O’Shaughnessey as the voice of Tails.

Dr. Robotnik is back from that strange mushroom planet and he’s out for revenge! He teams up with newcomer, Knuckles, who has an agenda of his own. The two of them find Sonic home alone livin’ it up as his “family” is on vacation in Hawaii for Maddie’s sister (Rachel’s) wedding.
Sonic is caught by complete surprise and hightails it out of there with the help of newcomer Tails – just in the knick of time! Tails is a stranger to Sonic but he decides to roll the dice as the furry two-tailed fox looks a lot sweeter than the alternative Dr. Robotnik and Knuckles who are after him.
Once Sonic realizes the duo is after the Master Emerald hidden away by Longclaw, he’s on a cross country race to get to it before they do. For if it gets in the wrong hands it can be disastrous for everyone!
Kids of all ages and 90’s Sonic super fans will absolutely adore this movie! It’s full of incredible special effects and loads of pop culture references to keep everyone laughing. It’s a definite must-see! P.S. make sure to stay post the credit scene for a special clip!
Sonic the Hedgehog 2 opens in theaters on April 8th!
