I could not wait to surprise the boys with a new Nintendo Switch game! Starlink: Battle for Atlas is great for the child gamer who has advanced past kiddy games but is not quite ready for teen video games. I love that Ubisoft has created a game that’s mature, but appropriate in content for children 7+ years old, which is ideal for my two boys! Within minutes of the new adventure game arriving, they connected their starship and pilot and began playing. Here’s our Starlink: Battle for Atlas Switch review!
I’m participating in a paid program with MomSelect on behalf of Ubisoft. All opinions are my own.
Starlink: Battle for Atlas Nintendo Switch Review
About the game:
In Starlink: Battle for Atlas, lead a heroic team of interstellar pilots to free the Atlas star system from the Forgotten Legion. Innovative modular toys allow players to build unique starships which can be customized on the fly for a new way to play as players adapt to overcome any challenge they encounter in this epic open world adventure. It is available on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
Our Starlink: Battle for Atlas starter pack included Fox McCloud and Mason Rana, plus the battleship Arwing, along with two weapons (fire and ice). You can purchase additional starships, weapons, and pilot packs at participating retailers. Packs range in price from $7.99-$24.99.
We loved how easy the set-up was. You simply take it out of the box, decide on which player and weapon you’d like to use, connect it to your controller and begin playing! You can mix and match weapons, pilots, and starships and watch the seamless transition happen in-game.
The game has great graphics – you almost feel like you’re watching a movie. They can travel seamlessly through the exotic alien worlds of the Atlas star system and discover its seven unique planets, each with its own ecosystem, wildlife, and secrets to uncover. The world evolves depending on the player’s actions and choices and continues to evolve even when you aren’t around.
The boys love the quest concept and how it gives you guides and checkmarks along the way. They also really enjoy flying the spaceship and having that attachment piece as part of their controller.
With Starlink: Battle for Atlas players can enjoy two modes of play: single player and split screen two-player mode. We’ve currently only played in single player mode.
All three of my boys (including hubby) are loving their new Nintendo Switch game! I appreciate that it keeps them entertained within a safe environment, and it’s something they all like doing together. If you are looking for a video game that’s great for that in between age (and even older) I highly recommend Starlink: Battle for Atlas available in stores now, as well as Amazon.com.
