If you are in the giving spirit, I have just the place for you that will make a big impact! Kids In Need Foundation is a national not-for-profit that gets school supplies to students, teachers, and schools most in need. Their Supply a Classroom program provides those schools in need with the essentials supplies needed to make it through the school year.
This is a partnered post. All opinions are my own.
Supply a Classroom, Make a Difference
As the wife of an elementary school principal, this organization tugs at my heartstrings. If it weren’t for organizations like Kids in Need Foundation, many of our teachers and students would go without the essentials needed, like notebooks, rulers, pencils, sharpeners, and much more.
Here’s how Supply a Classroom works:
Each summer teachers from across the U.S. tell us their story on how the school supplies will impact their students. That information is added to the website to help a donor (that’s you!) find a classroom that is meaningful to them.
Donors can search for a specific teacher, a city or state, school district and find classrooms in a community in need of support. Donors can fund all or a portion of the school supplies, called Classroom Supply Boxes, or even fund multiple schools within a district. Those boxes contain $500 in essential school supplies! What a difference that can make for students and teachers!
In partnering with Kids in Need Foundation, we received four Teacher Supply Boxes, and I set up those supplies in a classroom for teachers in Kindergarten through Third grade to stop by and fill up their boxes. They were so appreciative to snag school supplies for the upcoming school year. Many times, teachers are using their own money to make sure every student in their class has the supplies they need. We all know teachers are underpaid for the extremely important job that they do, so donating to supply a classroom is a wonderful way to show them support.
