The Adventures of Rockford T. Honeypot Book Review
Both of my boys are big readers. They read for a minimum of one hour each night at bedtime. Last school year, my 9-year-old completed all 15 Sunshine State chapter books (which is a really big deal in Elementary school) and was headed to a special competition called “Battle of the Books” before COVID-19 put a halt to the end of the school year.
He’s keeping busy with new chapter books to read this summer, including an early copy of The Adventures of Rockford T. Honeypot which was signed by the author!
He wanted to help with the book review – here are his thoughts:
Rockford T. Honeypot is a chipmunk that lives in Kona Valley. Rockford loves learning and reading. Unfortunately, he struggles with bullying. When his father banishes him from the family due to financial troubles, Rockford sets out on his own.
Soon he gets a job cooking at a restaurant where he introduces a new dish, roasted hazelnuts, however that business goes under, and once again Rockford is left on his own.
His idol Captain James inspires him to go on an adventure. He decides to climb the Alpine mountain, but there was deep fog and five mindful monks came along and invited him to their homes. He learns so much from the ancient monks, and now he’s ready to continue his adventures.
My son is halfway through the book, and can’t wait to continue reading it! He says it’s an amazing book for all ages and takes you on an adventure. He recommends that parents get this book for their kids too.
The Adventures of Rockford T. Honeypot Recipes
Because Rockford goes on a culinary adventure within the book, fellow blogger, Jessica at The Healthy Mouse, created some fun recipes to go along with the adventure.
