Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania (Marvel Studios) – Feb. 17, 2023
Super Heroes Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) and Hope Van Dyne (Evangeline Lilly) return to continue their adventures as Ant-Man and The Wasp. Together, with Hope’s parents Janet Van Dyne (Michelle Pfeiffer) and Hank Pym (Michael Douglas), and Scott’s daughter Cassie Lang (Kathryn Newton), the family finds themselves exploring the Quantum Realm, interacting with strange new creatures and embarking on an adventure that will push them beyond the limits of what they thought possible. Star Wars: Young Jedi Adventures Animated Series (LucasFilm Disney+) – Spring 2023
Set during The High Republic era, “Star Wars: Young Jedi Adventures” follows Younglings as they study the ways of the Force and learn valuable skills needed to become Jedi: compassion, self-discipline, teamwork, patience, and friendship. The first full-length animated Star Wars series created for preschoolers, “Star Wars: Young Jedi Adventures” features the voices of Jamaal Avery, Jr. (“Abbott Elementary”) as Kai Brightstar and Emma Berman (Pixar’s “Luca”) as Nash Durango.
Star Wars: Skeleton Crew Live Action Series (LucasFilm Disney+) – TBD 2023
“Star Wars: Skeleton Crew,” set in the New Republic era, is about a group of kids lost in the Star Wars galaxy trying to find their way home. See the trailer.
Peter Pan and Wendy Live Action (Disney+) – TBD 2023
A Disney+ Original movie, “Peter Pan & Wendy” is a live-action reimagining of the 1953 animated classic. The film introduces Wendy Darling, a young girl looking to avoid boarding school who meets Peter Pan, a boy who refuses to grow up. Alongside her brothers and a tiny fairy, Tinker Bell, she travels with Peter to the magical world of Neverland. There, she encounters an evil pirate captain, Captain Hook, and embarks on a thrilling and dangerous adventure that will change her life forever. See the trailer.
Crater (Disney+) – TBD 2023
“Crater” is the coming-of-age adventure story of Caleb Channing (Isaiah Russell-Bailey), who was raised on a lunar mining colony and is about to be permanently relocated to an idyllic faraway planet following the death of his father. But before leaving, to fulfill his dad’s last wish, he and his three best friends, Dylan (Billy Barratt), Borney (Orson Hong) and Marcus (Thomas Boyce), and a new arrival from Earth, Addison (Mckenna Grace), hijack a rover for one final adventure on a journey to explore a mysterious crater.
Chang Can Dunk (Disney+) – TBD 2023
“Chang Can Dunk” follows Chang, a 16-year-old, Asian American high school student in the marching band, who bets the school basketball star that he can dunk by Homecoming. The bet leads the 5’ 8″ Chang on a quest to find the hops he needs to dunk in order to impress his crush, Kristy, and finally gain the attention and respect of his high school peers. But before he can rise up and truly throw one down, he’ll have to reexamine everything he knows about himself, his friendships and his family.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 (Marvel Studios) – May 5, 2023
In Marvel Studios “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3” our beloved band of misfits are looking a bit different these days. Peter Quill, still reeling from the loss of Gamora, must rally his team around him to defend the universe along with protecting one of their own. A mission that, if not completed successfully, could quite possibly lead to the end of the Guardians as we know them. See the trailer.
The Little Mermaid – Live Action Musical – May 26, 2023
“The Little Mermaid” is the beloved story of Ariel, a beautiful and spirited young mermaid with a thirst for adventure. The youngest of King Triton’s daughters and the most defiant, Ariel longs to find out more about the world beyond the sea and, while visiting the surface, falls for the dashing Prince Eric. While mermaids are forbidden to interact with humans, Ariel must follow her heart. She makes a deal with the evil sea witch, Ursula, which gives her a chance to experience life on land but ultimately places her life – and her father’s crown – in jeopardy. See the trailer here.
Elemental (Pixar) – June 16, 2023
Disney and Pixar’s “Elemental” is an all-new, original feature film set in Element City, where fire-, water-, land- and air-residents live together. The story introduces Ember, a tough, quick-witted and fiery young woman, whose friendship with a fun, sappy, go-with-the-flow guy named Wade challenges her beliefs about the world they live in. Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny (Walt Disney Pictures and LucasFilm) – June 30, 2023
Harrison Ford returns to the role of the legendary hero archaeologist for this fifth installment of the iconic franchise. See the trailer here.
World’s Best (Walt Disney Studios) – Summer 2023
Disney’s original movie, “World’s Best,” is coming exclusively to Disney+ Summer 2023. In the midst of navigating the tumultuous hardships of adolescence, 12-year-old mathematics genius Prem Patel
discovers his recently deceased father was a famous rapper and immediately sets out to pursue a career for himself as a rap superstar. While his recent actions may appear reckless and the quickest way for him to lose everything, Prem, empowered by imaginative hip-hop music-fueled fantasies where he performs with his father, is determined to find out if hip-hop truly is in his DNA. As his father always used to say, “the world’s best never rest.”
The Marvels (Marvel Studios) – July 28, 2023
Carol Danvers aka Captain Marvel has reclaimed her identity from the tyrannical Kree and taken revenge on the Supreme Intelligence. But unintended consequences see Carol shouldering the burden of a destabilized universe. When her duties send her to an anomalous wormhole linked to a Kree revolutionary, her powers become entangled with that of Jersey City super-fan, Kamala Khan aka Ms. Marvel, and Carol’s estranged niece Captain Monica Rambeau. Together, this unlikely trio must team-up and learn to work in concert to save the universe as “The Marvels.”
Star Wars: Ahsoka Live Action Series (LucasFilm Disney+) – Aug. 2023
Set after the fall of the Empire, “Star Wars: Ahsoka” follows the former Jedi knight Ahsoka Tano as she investigates an emerging threat to a vulnerable galaxy.
Haunted Mansion (Walt Disney Pictures) – Aug. 11, 2023
Inspired by the classic theme park attraction, “Haunted Mansion” is about a woman and her son who enlist a motley crew of so-called spiritual experts to help rid their home of supernatural squatters.
A Haunting in Venice (20th Century Studios) – Sept. 15, 2023
“A Haunting in Venice,” an unsettling supernatural thriller based upon the novel “Hallowe’en Party” by Agatha Christie. The film is a terrifying mystery featuring the return of the celebrated sleuth, Hercule Poirot. Now retired and living in self-imposed exile in the world’s most glamorous city, Poirot reluctantly attends a séance at a decaying, haunted palazzo. When one of the guests is murdered, the detective is thrust into a sinister world of shadows and secrets.
Win or Lose (Pixar) – Fall 2023
“Win or Lose,” Pixar Animation Studios’ first-ever original long-form animated series, follows the Pickles, a coed middle school softball team, in the week leading up to their championship game. Each episode offers a look inside the off-the-field life of a character—a player, their parent, the umpire—revealing their funny, emotional and always relatable point of view in a unique visual style.
Disney Wish (Walt Disney Animation) – Nov. 22, 2023
As Walt Disney Animation Studios celebrates its 100th year, the all-new original feature film “Wish” asks the question: “How did the wishing star, upon which so many Disney characters wished, come to be?” Set in the magical kingdom of Rosas, the story introduces Asha (voice of Ariana DeBose), an optimist with a sharp wit who deeply cares about her community. When Asha turns to the sky in a moment of need and makes a wish, her plea is answered by a cosmic force—a little ball of boundless energy called Star. Together, they face the most formidable of foes to save her community and prove that when the will of one courageous human connects with the magic of the stars, wondrous things can happen.
