Educational toys that are eco-friendly have become more in-demand over the last couple of years. Whenever possible I try to find products that are not only fun for the kids, but have an educational element while being free of toxins and chemicals. I was happy to come across Tobo Toys who recently introduced their first product: Tobo Track.
Tobo Track is made from only the safest non-toxic materials. The material used for each track piece is actually made of wood, however the technique to make them is similar to plastic and provides a lightweight smooth finish. Each Tobo Track includes 12 identical hexagonal pieces offering hundreds of way to create and play. The set includes 1 wooden car and a mesh bag for easy clean-up and travel. There’s also optional green stickers to place on the pieces, which gives the wooden pieces some color.
I’ve shared this in the past, but my littlest son (L) is quite the creative one so the Tobo Track was right up his alley! I knew he would appreciate using the puzzle-like pieces to create multiple track designs. J also loved the car track, which can be used with any toy car or train, like Hot-Wheels, Matchbox cars, Thomas and friends, and more. Of course my favorite part is knowing that the boys are playing with a safe toy that offers educational value and creative play.
Something else worth mentioning is the numbers on the edge of each piece. Here’s a few ideas of how they can be used for educational purposes:
- The two numbers must be added together (or subtracted) before the car can drive across.
- Join only odd numbers to odd numbers and even number to even numbers.
- Only connect same number together (ie. 1 to 1, 3 to 3, 6 to 6, etc.)
- Add up all the numbers as you drive through the track.
- And make up your own number games!
Tobo Toys are designed in Canada and manufactured in the USA. I really appreciate the value of Tobo Track and look forward to seeing what other sustainable products Tobo Toys creates! You can buy Tobo Track on their website for just $39.95 on sale with FREE shipping!! It is also available for the same sale price on amazon.com. (At the time of this review)
