Trolls Band Together Movie Review

Trolls Band Together is a vibrant celebration of music, friendship, and the power of unity. We saw an early screening of the film, and I must say, it exceeded all my expectations! Read on for our no-spoiler review below.

About the film:

After two films of true friendship and relentless flirting, Poppy (Anna Kendrick) and Branch (Justin Timberlake) are now officially, finally, a couple (#broppy)! As they grow closer, Poppy discovers that Branch has a secret past. He was once part of her favorite boyband phenomenon, BroZone, with his four brothers: Floyd (Troye Sivan), John Dory (Eric André), Spruce (Daveed Diggs) and Clay (Kid Cudi). BroZone disbanded when Branch was still a baby, as did the family, and Branch hasn’t seen his brothers since.

But when Branch’s bro Floyd is kidnapped for his musical talents by a pair of nefarious pop-star villains—Velvet (Amy Schumer) and Veneer (Andrew Rannells)—Branch and Poppy embark on a harrowing and emotional journey to reunite the other brothers and rescue Floyd from a fate even worse than pop-culture obscurity.

Featuring Trolls’ signature psychedelic joy-bomb of new and classic pop hits, Trolls Band Together stars a dazzling cast of musical superstars and comedic powerhouses as new franchise characters, including four-time Grammy nominee and Latin Grammy winner Camila Cabello as Viva; Zosia Mamet as Crimp; and RuPaul Charles as Miss Maxine.

Visual and Sound:

Moviegoers will be captivated by the stunning animation and visuals in Trolls Band Together. The filmmakers have once again demonstrated their mastery in creating a visually immersive experience. The colors are bold, the textures are rich, and the attention to detail is impeccable!

As expected, the music is the highlight of the film. The soundtrack is a diverse blend of genres, showcasing the incredible talent of the cast. There’s a mix of pop tunes and soulful ballads that will have you dancing in your seats while watching the film. During our screening, the kids were up dancing and singing along and it was SO adorable to see!

The all-important message:

At its core, Trolls Band Together is a heartwarming tale about the strength of unity. The film emphasizes the importance of coming together despite differences, a message that feels particularly relevant in today’s world.

The voice cast, led by familiar favorites and some exciting new additions, delivers stellar performances that breathe life into the animated characters.
