Valentine’s Day will be here soon enough! Today I’m sharing a delicious dessert recipe: Chocolate Chip Whoopie Pies. Not only are these fun to make, but seriously tasty to eat. They can be ready in under 30 minutes!
Chocolate Chip Whoopie Pies
This easy baking treat is fun to make and tastes great. Measurements with easy to follow printable directions are located at the bottom of this post.
Ingredients:
all-purpose flour
sugar
baking soda
salt
butter
milk
eggs
vanilla extract
Mini chocolate chips
Buttercream Frosting Ingredients:
powdered sugar
butter
vanilla extract
milk
What you’ll need:
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 350 and grease a whoopie pie pan.
- Sift together flour, sugar, baking soda, and salt in medium bowl and set aside.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk milk, eggs, softened butter, and vanilla. Slowly add the dry ingredients to the bowl and mix until smooth.
- Spoon the batter into prepared pans 2/3’s way full. Bake for 12-15 minutes.
- Remove from oven and let sit 10 minutes before turning onto a rack to cool completely.
- Once the cakes are cooled, spread the frosting on the bottom of one side and gently press the top on. Lightly press the mini chocolate chips into the frosting.

- 2-1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 cup butter
- 1 1/4 cup milk
- 4 eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- Mini chocolate chips reserved
Buttercream Frosting Ingredients
- 3 cups powdered sugar
- 1 cup butter
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1-2 tablespoons milk
Instructions

Preheat the oven to 350-degrees and grease a whoopie pie pan.

Sift together the flour, sugar, baking soda, and salt into a medium bowl and set aside.

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the milk, eggs, softened butter, and vanilla. Slowly add the dry ingredients and mix until smooth.

Spoon the batter into the prepared pans. Do not fill the cups more than 2/3’s full. Bake for 12-15 minutes.

Remove from the oven and let set for 10 minutes before turning out onto a rack to cool completely.
Frosting directions

Whisk together the sugar, vanilla and butter, adding the milk as needed. Beat for about 3 minutes until fluffy and thick.

Spoon the frosting into a piping bag and decorate cooled cakes as desired.
To Assemble

Once the cakes are cooled, spread the frosting on the bottom of one side and gently press the top on. Lightly press the mini chocolate chips into the frosting. Refrigerate in an airtight container until ready to serve.
